Didn't know TPMS for my 2018 Ridgeline

I bought winter tires with rims and new TPMS sensors. I have no complaints about the wheels but I am disappointed that I was told they would need to reprogram (and charge for it) the new sensors for the truck. Everything I had read indicated the truck would auto learn the new sensors so I took them home and mounted them on the truck myself. After driving 5 minutes each wheel registered the correct pressure as I had read. This is for a 2018 Honda Ridgeline.
