I came from a hospitality background and held a Bachelor’s degree prior to joining triOS College. I was looking to change my career path and focus on Accounting and Payroll so as to expound on opportunities including those in the Hotel Industry (Accounting/ Finance Department). I did a thorough research on both public and private colleges in the GTA (Great Toronto Area) and that is how I ended up pursuing my Accounting and Payroll Diploma at triOS College, Mississauga campus. From the first time I set foot into triOS College, all the staff members were very welcoming, very supportive, and approachable. From the instructors, to the administrative staff, the director, the employment specialist, the counselors and even the students. The environment felt very family- like which made it much easier to blend in and very conducive for learning. The staff and instructors are very devoted to our success. I cannot go without mentioning Ms. Trudeau, my Business Communication / MS Office Instructor and Mr. Steve Potts, my Accounting and Payroll Instructor both of whom were not only patient and approachable but also very dedicated in ensuring that we all progressed and advanced well in our studies. They focused on the students’ progress and ensured that we fully understood all aspects of the course work, not to mention the small class sizes. The course format is also very efficient and effective. It allows us to focus on one course at a time thus maximizing our understanding of the course material step by step. The program is very intense which ensures that we cover and complete our program in the shortest time possible. This way we are able to apply what we’ve learnt and pursue our professional careers the soonest possible. One of the most advantageous aspects of triOs Mississauga campus was the support offered in regard to seeking valuable experience as well as employment prospects prior to and after completion of the program. Many many thanks to Joanne Bradley, the Employment Specialist who not only prepared me for my prospective job attainment path through valuable experience from a volunteer position placement, but also the intensive interview preparation she offered us. Joanne ensured that I was well placed, and followed through the process even after landing my permanent employment, making sure that I was content . She had gone through various interview steps with me prior to each interview, most of which the positions had been forwarded by the career department from various sources. She is truly an amazing lady. I was well informed of various career fairs and positions available until I landed my first Accounting position. I am proud to say that I did in fact graduate with Honours and I’m permanently employed at an Accounting and Consulting firm of which I work directly with a major client that I was assigned to by my employer. Thanks to the dedication of the wonderful team at triOS college, Mississauga, including the support and encouragement I received from my former classmates!

My teacher is refusing to teach us. we are halfway through a course and he has not taught one thing. he simply plays youtube videos on the screen. WHEN i asked him if we could be taught differently he says there is no other way to teach it. well i wouldn't have paid 30000 if i could use youtube to learn this. i am INCREDIBLY disappointed.

I came to Canada two years ago. I worked retail for eight months when I realized that I needed to continue working on my education to pursue a Canadian degree. A degree that could further help me improve myself, and my skills. In addition, I thought that such a degree could help increase my chances at getting a job here in Canada. I looked around for Local colleges and decided to enroll in triOS college. I chose it because it was among the colleges that offered an internship with the program, which was a great opportunity especially for a person like me who has no past Canadian experience. In addition, triOS was located at a prime location for me. It was close to my apartment, so getting there was a short journey! triOS is sincerely a great place! I got so much help and encouragement from many people there. There are a number of people like Beckie Tanaka, Bernadette Balano, Trudie Davidson, Steven Potts, Joanne Bradley, and Mariam Frederick, who helped me get to where I am today. Their words of encouragement and advice have pushed me to become a better person. Beckie Tanaka has offered me so much advice over the past year. She is the one who inspired me to join the accounting and payroll program. Bernadette Balano was a great help! A very friendly and lovely lady! I enjoyed her presence, and her smile. She explained everything concerning finances to me, and in detail! Trudie Davidson was one of my lovely instructors. She was very professional and understanding. She helped me enforce my improved capabilities in all her different courses. Not only that, but she was also very encouraging! Steven Potts was another instructor of mine. Steven not only taught accounting and payroll courses, but he was a skilled teacher. He made sure to teach us how to depend on ourselves and work hard. He expressed the importance of the attention to detail. Another inspiring person I have met, is Joanne Bradley. She was my employment specialist. She was such a professional and respectful lady. She was helpful and supportive! She gave me the push I needed to believe in myself. She helped me work on my confidence and cheered me on. In addition to her emotional support, she helped set me up with different companies when I was looking for jobs. Last, but certainly not least is Mariam Frederick, she was a delight! She was our campus advisor. She offered all the help she could give in any possible situation you could think of. triOS was truly a place that I will forever hold close to my heart. It was a great experience. Thank you so much to everybody, mentioned or not, for your help and support and thank you to Mississauga team too!

I graduated from the Medical Office Assistant program in 2016 and while I enjoyed my experience taking the course - finding a job in my field was a challenge. It has now been 2 years and I feel like I have gotten no where. I have come to realize that it's harder to get a job in an industry that 9 times out of 10 requires for you to already have work experience. The industry in itself, isn't as viable as I had hoped it would be and therefore, I am looking into going back to school in a different field. Taking the course was a great accomplishment for me and I have no regrets - but I wish the transition from school to work had been more seamless as a whole. I feel schools like Trios need to build more partnerships with employers so that students don't feel like they are left strand.

I graduated in 2016 from the Mississauga campus as a Community Service Worker (CSW). Previously i had worked in a totally different field, i lost my job and decided to make a change in my career. i decided on Trios for a couple of reasons; one that the course was only one year in length and two; i would be able to complete an internship. From the moment I walked through the doors to Trios, everyone gave me the feeling of warmth and made me feel that i can be successful in my new choice of career. As my career began, I would meet one of the most influential woman in my life, my instructor Nancy Gibbs. The first lesson i learnt from her was to get to know myself, and to find out if I was capable of being a source of help to other people. The CSW field called for you to be emphatic and compassionate, I found Nancy to be all of those things and more. She taught me to be unbiased and accepting of everyone, even when they gave you a reason not to be kind to them. Thank you Nancy, you are my hero. As I moved through my course I also had Joanne Bradley, my Employment Specialist, who spent a lot of time guiding me through my career choices and never stopped supporting me, even now. Thank you Joanne. I have found a field that I can make a difference in people's life one person at a time, and I have trios to thank for that. Love you all..
