Abaondoned by Customer Care - Resolution Well Handled

Things started well enough with a detailed recall notice providing all the information needed to understand what actions were required and how to go about getting the recall service performed. I particularly appreciated the ability to book an appointment online but I was disappointed that either the information I provided there isn’t provided to the agents I dealt with or they didn’t know how to access it. I was called to confirm the recall number which I had already entered into the web appointment as part of that process which to my mind at least partly defeats collecting it that way in the first place. I had also indicated on the web appointment that I’d be waiting for the service to be completed so the service teams could plan accordingly this will become important later. I arrived on time for my 3:30 PM appointment and there was a small reasonable delay before I could hand over the vehicle to an available service agent. I was mildly surprised the agent didn’t offer a name but I wasn’t overly concerned by that and the transaction was fine otherwise. I had been asked if I would be waiting or coming back and had indicated I’d be waiting in the service area. I’m willing to take part of the accountability here as I probably should have become concerned something had gone wrong sooner. My experience with big dealer shops like the one I visited a 3 hour wait for a 45 min process isn’t that unusual. Service personal had been coming out to talk to people who were waiting before I arrived before me so the delay seemed to be in line with the evidence of people waiting. I was reading to give myself something to do so it did dawn on me a little late that I was the last person around and I hadn’t seen any service people for a while so I went looking for someone to find the service area empty. Fortunately, I was able to find one of the sales personnel who seemed to be as incredulous as I was that Service had all left with me sitting in the service waiting area. This part of the experience was good as I’m sure my frustration was leaking through and it really wasn’t their fault. They did get ahold of a manger and got approval to loan me a car so I could get home without needing to take my car and then restart the whole scheduling process again. I was impressed though that under that arrangement that someone from the dealership drove my car back to me and picked up the loaner saving me the trip. So, from my perspective the best part of the whole experience is how well the service recovery was handled rather than the experience itself. Unfortunately for this dealership this whole experience washes out as mediocre for me despite the excellent service recovery and it just tends to reinforce my opinions about dealer service locations.

I had to drop my vehicle off for a battery issue. Andrew has to keep my vehicle and provided me with a vehicle from Enterprise at no cost to me as I had an appointment to keep that afternoon. I expected that my vehicle would be there overnight, but received a phone call in the early afternoon to inform me that it was already done. I had my vehicle back by 5:00 that same evening, and was very thankful. Vehicle has been working fine ever since.

Lack of communication

I had an appointment on Friday Feb 8 at 9am for a B service for my Honda Odyssey. My husband dropped our vehicle off before 9am and was asked what time we wanted to pick our vehicle up. My husband said 3:30 and was told “that shouldn’t be a problem.” At approximately 2:30, I called twice to find out the status of our vehicle and both times the call went to voicemail. I dropped my husband off there at 3:30 and he was told by Carly that our van had not even been worked on yet. This was extremely frustrating as we were told it would ready by 3:30. On top of this, no one from the service department bothered to call us to let us know that it would not be ready in time. I called and once again no one answered. I finally received a call back from Jessica the next day and she apologized and said the service manager would call on Monday to follow up. The service manager has not called and I have been playing phone tag with Jessica for almost 2 weeks now. We were offered a free oil change the next time we book but that is not good enough. We expect the entire B service covered for this inconvenience. I would appreciate a call back in response to this review.

When my battery was replaced due to the less than one year old battery in my new car dying, (why??) would this happen? All my set functions were deleted so I assumed this should have been reset by the dealer as everything had to be re programmed. Otherwise all was handled very well. Thank you

Exceptional service

Our salesman Jay was just great. Quite often you are left waiting for something, maybe finance, or the salesman is looking for the keys, or other things but Jay had this book on his desk which he calls “Jays Book of Fun” and it was great. We laughed so hard and it gives you an on-site to the type of person Jay is. Really great.

Poor customer service with lack of communication among staff members

Multiple warning lights came on my dash and I was told I would have to wait a week just for the car to be seen. I was then called later in the week and advised to bring it in for diagnosis prior to my appointment. When I arrived, the service advisor had no idea I was coming and indicated they were swamped; he was baffled that someone would have advised me to bring the car in sooner. I was told they wouldn't be able to get to my vehicle for several days but I didn't feel safe driving it. I left my car with them, was not provided with a shuttle ride home, so paid for a taxi. 2 days later I got a call to confirm I would be dropping my vehicle off the following week. Once again, nobody knew that my vehicle was already in their possession. I wrote an email of complaint to the service manager who to this day still has not apologized or responded. My lease is up in 4 months and I am curious how Honda plans to maintain my loyalty as a customer.
