Organized

April 17, 2018

Vehicle drop off was slower than usual due to a new system but everyone in service was organized and helpful and attentive. Service personnel called me about issues early in the day so that the vehicle was finished and ready for pickup at the end of the day.

Brand New Chevy Nightmare

April 05, 2018

My son bought a brand new 2016 Chevy Malibu. The car has been a nightmare. It has had engine trouble since day one. I have found people with the same problem on the internet. The car goes from a driving speed of 80 km to 40 suddenly and will not gain speed. Engine light comes on and car looses power. Pretty scarey but on a highway it is dangerous and in a Manitoba winter it could turn deadly. Everytime we brought it to Murray they would say it was a new problem even though it is the same problem never properly fixed. Once the warranty was over due to high highway miles they charged over $250.00 to fix the same problem without fixing it again. Next time the car lost power. February 2018 and was returned to dealership Murray admitted it was a manufacturer defect. This time they fixed(?) it and returned the car only to have same problem within a month. My son has no faith in the car and will now be trying to contact Chevy, having your brand new car out of service every 3-4 months is not acceptable! This week he was told he will get a rental car covered by Chevy and then recieved a phone call saying the car they gave him at Murray is not covered because it is not a Chevy product. They gave him the rental car! The costs of the repairs, the cost of the rentals while they worked (and waited for parts) and time spent running back and forth has been very high. Given the poor product he has purchased and the poor service I would never recommend this dealership or repair sevice

When you spend $17000 plus ona used vehicle, with one key and the sales person promises you multiple times that he would be getting you a key, whether from the old owner or from the dealership and doesn't. That's fine, you've lost all service on the vehicle (100's) and any future business (1000s) from me over a $150 key... Your loss.

Good deal

March 21, 2018

Great car for a great price. Reasonable level of service, bought me lunch, but often left me waiting. Used uncomfortable sales pressure while selling me the extended warranty, wouldn't show me the true price at first, would only show me the impact on bi weekly payments. Was confusing if the financing terms were tied to buying warranty, said they needed to re approve without warranty. Didn't provide me a rental for day 1 warranty repairs that were required, felt like I was forgotten as soon as I was out the door.

Poor service expierence

March 19, 2018

Below is my experience that i explained to you before. in the end the issue occured again on February 20th. i brought it in to show the proof. it was fixed in the end under the extended coverage and i was reimbursed for the diagnosis fee and given 2 free car washes. Thank you. However it was an overall waste of my time dealing with this twice and was never reimbursed for the 164km test drive. which still baffles me why it was driven to Morris? From: Jeff H Sent: February 7, 2018 4:03 PM To: kelly@murraychevrolet.ca Subject: Follow up to your call regarding my service Good afternoon Kelly, Thank you for the follow up call and i wish i was available to talk. I was meaning to call you yesterday but ran out of time before having to leave for a few days to discuss my recent service or lack there off on my 2011 Silverado. I'd like to actually meet to discuss as there are quite a few details to go over. below are some of the key issues that I encountered that I would like further discussion and hopefully action on Here is a brief synopsis of my experience: I experienced twice in 2 days the check engine lights coming on, engine running in reduced power, service stabilitrak, service traction control without notice while driving without warning. When I checked the OBD2 reader I was presented code P2135. issues with Throttle Body Position Sensor. As I’d been informed by GM in the past and also when I look at my vehicle on the GM owners portal I see special coverage 11273. (replacing the TPS). knowing I needed to get it to your shop I cleared the codes, booked an appointment and brought it in. clearing the error allowed me to drive the truck safely however did not allow your techs to view the code live. I would have thought they could have pulled the history, I was wrong I guess. When I checked it in Dennis mentioned this is a common problem and should be covered under the coverage. I sent him the picture of my readout and also offered to show him a video of the second occurrence. He said it wouldn't be needed. I was called back on Friday afternoon stating that they couldn't recreate the code and wouldn't complete the work. I agreed to let them keep it until Monday to perform further road testing. after the road test on Monday they still couldn't recreate the code and did not perform the work. I was charged the $69 diagnosis fee plus applicable taxes but left without any work being completed. Here are my concerns for I’d like to discuss: 1. 1. Besides test driving the vehicle, what are the standard procedures and tests that were done in my case? 2. 2. My vehicle was driven 164 kms (Friday test drive and to Morris MB and back on Monday). is this normal practice to drive such large distances? a. Should the technicians not have completed a proper drive cycle instead of a long haul at high speeds? b. The average fuel consumption was at 17.8l/100km when I received the vehicle back. The techs test drives cost me approx. $30 in gas and I was not offered reimbursement. When I asked I was informed I needed to talk to yourself. You had already left when I picked up the vehicle on Monday. I was told I had to pay before they would release my truck. c. I had washed the truck the day before bringing it in. The truck after being driven for 164 km was covered in salt from the highway driving. Other dealerships I have brought my vehicle in for repair either wash it themselves or give a voucher for one. Does Murray not offer this service for those who pay for service? d. My service form had the kilometers in and out as the same amount. It was only changed by Dennis after I requested it. was this just a honest mistake or someone hiding how much it was driven? 3. 3. A faulty TPS in my opinion is a risky issue. I’ll be honest, I do not feel safe or comfortable driving my truck for any distance at this point seeing as I can loose power, or worse a runaway at any point without warning. I think GM recognized this by extending the coverage to 10 years or 120000 km. 4. 4. Dennis did say if the issue occurred again in 30 days to drive it in under reduced power mode to keep the error code active. They would asses it then and see what could be done. I asked him how long it is safe to drive In this situation and he said he couldn’t comment in the distance. I will say I would not pay for a tow given I had it at your shop already asking for the repair to be completed. 5. 5. Based on the service bulletin and parts needed, I would guess the total cost for your shop to complete the work would be approx. $120-$200 dependent on your shop rate. Given the amount of time test driving, Dennis’ time with myself as well as the very patient girl working the office you have already exceeded the amount of the repair in those labor costs. Not to mention my time and hopefully your time to deal with this. would it not have been a better business decision to do the repair out right given it is covered by GM? I brought the same truck in during the summer last year and had a very similar experience. In fact I paid a diagnosis fee then without the techs finding out what was wrong. That is another story for another time. As I am a man of second chances I gave you guys another shot. However I was equally disasspointed if not more, this time around. I apologize for the length but these are the key points I needed to cover and see what can be done. I am approx. $110 shorter on cash now and driving a vehicle that I do not trust will get me from point a to b safely. I know what I would ask for in this situation but I’d like to hear your opinion on how you can make this right and if you agree that this is the level of service I should expect when bringing in a vehicle to Murray Chevrolet? I cleared up my calendar next Monday – Thursday between 12pm and 1:30pm to discuss. I work close by at the University and can come in on any of those days to discuss further. I may be in sooner if the issue reoccurs as well. I look forward to hearing from you more. Regards, Jeff Haaksma

'O'ring on power steering hose was not properly installed so power steering fluid leak continued. A new 'O'ring was sent to Oxford House and a mechanic here fixed it.
