I have been a flat rate mechanic for 10 years. When my parent's jeep needed work and I didn't have the time to do it myself they took it to Vernon dodge. This was a huge mistake. Before taking the jeep in, I looked up the flat rate time for the repair. The shop I work at would have charged 4.6 hours to repair the problem. Vernon dodge doubled the repair time and just refused to tell me why the time was doubled. When my parents dropped the car off, they were told it would cost a maximum of $1200.00 to completely repair the problem. The next day they phoned my mom and said it was going to cost $1700.00. When I called and asked why the price had gone up so much from this worst case of $1200.00, the service advisor just kept saying the car needs a door kit. He couldn't tell me what a door kit was or why the car needed it. He then told me I should come down and look at the jeep for myself. So we arranged a time for me to come and look. When I showed up the service advisor wasn't there and the other advisor that was there didn't know anything about it. When I left I gave my phone number to the advisor that was there and told him that I wanted to talk with the person who was dealing with my parents jeep. Of course no one phoned me to tell me what was going on. I never thought that getting a car repaired could have been such a hassle. Never take your car there to be repaired. Unless you want to pay double the price for satisfactory work. I understand your anger and frustration that I would write an unflattering review of your dealer. But I think you missed the point of it. The quality of the work done to the jeeps was fine. If it wasn't for the cost I would say that it was good or better than good. I completely understand why the dash came out and how the diagnostic procedure works when it comes blend doors and climate controls. What I don't understand is the cost. When the flat rate manual says 4.6 hours and you charged 8. What other conclusion was I suppose to come to other than you took advantage of them and did something wrong. If you have a better explanation to why the time was so much more than the book I would love to here it. But no one was able or willing to tell me. Although my review may have been harsh it wasn't untrue. All I can do is review the experience you as a dealer provided me. When a shop charges more than they should it does give dealerships and mechanics a bad name. All I can do is let others know of my experience so they don't get caught in the same situation. So for those that have taken the time to read this I would recommend not going to Vernon dodge. P.S. Notice that I didn't have to call out by name and personally attack you. Brad.

We reviewed the work order in detail and we think that some of the problem is your interpretation of the actual repair. As a 10 year veteran mechanic, you should realize that when the entire dash of a vehicle comes out, the diagnostic process is a blind one until the dash is actually off and the mechanic can get in and see what is going on. The only deviation from the original ESTIMATE to the final bill is the "Mid Case Housing" that was discovered to be defective, after the dash came off. The total repair with shop supplies , parts and labor came to $1600 plus tax. By not including the faulty part (which your parents approved) in the final billing it would have left them with the original problem still not remedied. When we called them and let them know that, they chose to do the work. Thankfully, they are sensible enough to understand that. Besides your negligence in understanding the true depth of the repair while painting a picture to the public that we have done something wrong and taken advantage of your parents just serves to wipe out your credibility as a mechanic. Needless to say, we take great offense in your insinuation that we are a "bunch of crooks" Mr. Ohashi and maybe you're the real reason that mechanics get a bad name. Our mechanics are skilled, honest people who do a thankless job for people just like you day every day.

Not happy

Wow.. really? Where to start? Summer: We get an upgrade letter in the mail saying we can upgrade our vehicle and end up with less payments. Came by this dealership and found out the same model only a year newer was going to cost us just over $100 MORE a month. We tried to decline, but were basically pressured into saying yes, because corporate was there at the time.. so we get a new van. Yay!... not a month later we get a letter in the mail stating oil pressure valve malfunction, could cause loss of control and ultimately end up in car crash. So today, we brought our van in to get serviced - going to take 2 days, we said well in advance that we are a family of 6 and will need another van to accomodate us for the 2 days we will be out of our NEW vehicle... we get there, they have an econo car that barely fits 5 for us.... that's all they have we are told. As we are marching our 2 littlest children, carseats in tow to the car, a grumpy "shuttle man" asks us if we need to go somewhere. Husband says no thank you. He glares and says, well is your car in the shop?? Don't you need us to drive you somewhere?" Husband says no thank you, we are using the courtesy car. Man heads inside with not another word. Meanwhile. This luxury econo courtesy car is utterly disgusting inside! There is dog hair, dirt and dust all over the inside! The tires are low and the change oil keeps beeping at us! Really dodge!? You would think after everything, your customer service would be a bit more of a priority... I am giving this rating a 1 because I feel there was not even a thought or ounce of effort put forth to accomodate your customers (whom have been purchasing dodge vehicles from this dealership since 2012!)

Based on the name you have provided us we cannot correlate your visit to any customer that we have had in for the specific recall you have outlined but we can say that despite our very best efforts we can never truly accommodate everyone's needs for service loaner vehicles. We have expanded our base of service loaners with our ever growing customer base every year for the last 5 years but based on your feedback, we are trying our very best to add to it with the addition of some more 7 passenger vehicles so we can take better care of you and your family. We have also adjusted our policy to do a cleanliness check when one service customer drops off a service loaner and prior to the next person being signed out in it. Hopefully with these changes we can provide you with the experience you expect in the future.

The service from Curt and staff was fantastic!! Curt met us outside right away, unlike 3 other dealerships where we had to find staff. Curt was friendly, energetic, personable and didnt pressure us at all. He was knowledgeable and found out info right away that he wasnt sure of - very respectable. All other staff members either verbally greeted us or at the very least smiled. Curt worked hard to get us the best deal possible. We are very happy with our purchase and extremely satisfied with our service. We cant help but recommend this dealership to ohers! Thank you!
