Worst experience EVER

June 22, 2018

I have never seen or experienced such unprofessionalism as I have at Lindsay GMC. My partner and I were interested in a used vehicle at this location. We spoke with Dan Moore after looking at the vehicle. We had some concerns with it as it was used, for example if we were to purchase the broken cup holder would be fixed for us prior to receiving the vehicle, as well as a couple others. We looked at financing with him, we had a possible financing plan made up. With this paperwork our concerns of what needed fixing on the vehicle were written in. Also with this paperwork Dan had us leave a $150 deposit, but we were guaranteed we’d receive it back if we changed our minds about the vehicle. He signed off on this. Our next visit was with Cindy to see if we qualified for the financing without a co-signer. We were told by Josh Baxter we needed to leave the remaining of our $500 deposit, we made a deposit of $350. We were again reassured and guaranteed that we’d receive our deposit back in full if we didn’t qualify. Again Dan signed off on this as well. After 24 hours or so, we were told we did not qualify on our own and we would need to find a co-signer. We decided to cancel the process. We went in to speak with Dan to let him know we were no longer interested. The EXACT response we got from him was “you’ve got to be f*cking kidding me” as he literally threw our papers at us. Before anything had been finalized the vehicle concerns we had had already been fixed in the vehicle, therefore they put money into it. BUT we hadn’t finalized or had a final agreement to this. Dan told us we wouldn’t absolutely not be getting our deposit back and that we could take it up with the used car sales manager Josh Baxter. I spoke with him over the phone about the issue and was told that they would not be giving us our deposit back. I let him know his employee Dan Moore signed off on this and guaranteed we would be given it back. Josh said Dan didn’t have the authority to do so. It is not my fault he had an employee promise a customer something he shouldn’t have. It doesn’t change the facts that I was guaranteed in writing. I asked Josh for a customer service number to which he replied there wasn’t one. I then went to the owner of this location, he reassured me he would speak to these two employees and get back to me. The owner had Josh Baxter call me back instead. When I asked to speak with the manager again I was told he was refusing to speak with me. This infuriated me. The owner didn’t feel the issue and myself was important enough for him to deal with himself. I searched for a customer service number myself, I found one. I sent them photos of the paperwork with the agreement on it. They contacted the dealership and got the same answer as I did. I was at a loss. We fought with Josh Baxter on this for months. He said he had had enough of our complaints and agreed to return us half of our deposit. We accepted. I’m not satisfied with this but there’s nothing more I can do. NEVER will I EVER return to this dealership! I can not believe how unbelievably rude these people were to us. I have shared my story with everyone I know. No one should have to deal with that.

new acadia brakes and alignment problems

from day one had a vibration and occasionally could smell brake linings. For first four months quite often on a level garage when starting the acadia the emergency brake would be on. Went to the dealer several times and had brakes checked was told no problem was found. Had tires checked two tires were found defective.With two tires replaced and all tires balanced and rotated acadia still vibrated was told by dealer ride was normal.Several weeks later when parked in my garage I noticed my rear tires outer inch and a half was not making contact with the ground which meant my alignment was way off.Had an alignment done and vibration was quite improved.At 45,000 k I have two worn tires and was told due to not balancing there,s no coverage.I believe if the acadia needed two tires several weeks after new then the brakes sticking and the bad wheel alignment caused damage to the replaced tires and to the two replacement tires which now need replacing.

We had the snow tires removed and summer tires put on on in the early days of the week. It sat in the driveway until Friday when I had to bring my 2 year old child to his father's house in Brampton.. 2 hours away. On the way to his father's house, I noticed a strange noise, almost sounding like a flat tire. I pulled over and didn't see any sign of a flat tire so I carried on. The noise continued and by the time I got half way back from Brampton, it got to the point of having to yell to the passenger for them to hear me. The wheel was shaking and it was clear that something was very wrong. Thank the Lord, my son or I wasn't killed that day. My father looked at the wheel when I got home and was disgusted at the "work" they did. After bringing it to the attention of the dealership, they claim it was HIS fault that he didn't bring it back in to have the wheels retourqued before driving it any distance. Meanwhile, that wasn't brought up before leaving the dealership to bring it home after having the snow tires taken off. Share to bring notice to the negligence of this dealership that could have cost my son his life, as well as mine. Also, the terrible customer service they bring forth to my father who worked at GMC until he retired.

We spent about three weeks trying to decide between two vehicles. We wanted a mid-sized truck and GMC was one of the two. Halina was most helpful throughout this time, answering our questions and responding through email and phone to the several questions we had. She was knowledgeable and gave us the information we needed to make an informed decision. After our second test-drive and three weeks later, we decided to purchase it! The whole experience was great. We never felt pressured like we had from other dealer sales staff and Halina made us feel welcomed when we were there. The service department supervisor was amazing and even took us outside to show us the differences in products we were interested in. Halina, Thank You for all of the time you spent teaching us about the vehicle and for making sure it was in perfect shape when we picked it up. We know we made the best decision for our recreational needs thanks to you.
