Second vehicle I have purchased from Wellington. Always happy, staff are great, and always helpful.

A new car FOB was ordered in January. Had to go back in March after not hearing anything back from them, because they were unable to find the FOB and had no record of it in their system, and had to re-order the FOB. Just heard back from them in the middle of May about the FOB and my truck has been sitting at the dealership since 8:10 for an 8:15 appointment to get the new FOB set up. It is now 12:00 pm and I still have not heard anything about the truck, I called in about an hour ago to see what was going on and was told that I would be contacted in 15 minutes. Still nothing. I will NEVER be going back to this place again.

We ordered a key fob February 19th, It arrived the following day, we left a message the same week and another approximately two weeks later at the number we have on file which was provided at time of order which we believe belongs to John. We did not call again. We have the order documentation, the part was ordered one time & was on our special order shelf tagged for John. Eleni dropped the vehicle off at 8:15am and left the vehicle and provided a different number to call when completed. The vehicle was completed by 10:45am and we called the number provided and left a message that the vehicles was completed. John arrived around noon to pick the vehicle up and told the advisor he was in no rush for the vehicle. This current work order is the only time we have seen the vehicle and it was not purchased here. We accept your offer to go elsewhere, John is welcome back anytime.

This dealership is the worst dealership I’ve ever felt with in my life. Not only did they make an appointment with me and cancel without notification they sold the car I made an appointment for hours before I came for my appointment. Eventually I talked to a manager which basically laughed at me to my face told me I got a offer and took it, and wouldn’t let me speak without basically telling me you snooze you lose, I couldn’t believe it. I will be contacting OMVIC this week to explain how this dealer operates. The super odd thing about this is that I had a friend contact me about me about his dealings with this dealership and it was almost identical. They don’t care about customers, they care about closing sales. They don’t care who buys, they care about volume. I will be writing other reviews on this dealership on yelp as well as I’m going to open a forum on reddit about this particular location. Please do not deal with this dealership, contact other dealers and ask them about this location!! Good luck friends!

Nick, our BDC gal responded to your internet lead Sunday and scheduled an appointment for you to meet with a salesperson at 5:50 pm Monday as per current covid-19 requirements. A client who had looked at the vehicle the previous Friday made a cash offer mid-day Monday. It took us until late Monday afternoon to work out the EFT details confirming the deal was solid. As communicated to you Monday evening we should have contacted you prior to your arrival to let you know the vehicle was sold, again I apologize that did not happen. We are running with reduced staff, and with other complications created in dealing with covid-19 protocols and the timing of the original deal firming up we were not able to contact you prior to your arrival. A vehicle is not considered sold until there is a signed bill of sale in which either the financing is approved or the cash offer has been received in full. An appointment to see a vehicle does not constitute a deal. Over 50% of appointments scheduled do not show, and a high percentage of offers do not gain finance approval in today’s employment conditions. It’s not uncommon to write a backup deal on a vehicle in case the original deal does not gain approval. Much like your experience you communicated about test driving a similar vehicle at another dealership in the auto mall and upon return were told the vehicle was subsequently sold while you were driving it, a test drive does not constitute a deal but I do understand your frustration. At no point did we take this as a laughing matter. I stepped out of my office to intervene as my BDC girl was feeling uncomfortable with your increasingly agitated state of conversation with my sales Manager….we were definitely not laughing. I attempted to communicate the turn of events that had occurred in the last hour and apologized that you were not contacted prior to arrival. I understand that everyone stress level is hightened considering the current conditions and you were disappointed that the vehicle was sold just prior to your arrival. I felt our conversation ended amicably. It never ceases to amaze me the one sided opinions some people post hiding behind social media. Your 15 minutes of interaction within a business in which unfortunately you did not get what you wanted warrants a social media rant attacking a business’s character and reputation that has been surviving the Guelph community for almost 80 years, I don’t think so. I hope you find the vehicle you’re looking for. Sam Fairhall Dealer Principal.
