The first time my wife and I went in and we were looking to test drive a CX-5. We spent about 20 minutes going over the car waiting for some help. Since nobody was approaching us we went over to the reception desk and waited another 10 minutes. From there we could see a handful of gentlemen in an office having a discussion of some sort. We attempted to get their attention to which the reply was "Oh.....Hi." We then proceeded to ask if there was a sales agent available. The man left and went back to the room for another 5 minutes and then came back and said that there wasn't anyone available. FYI there were no customers in the place and with that many people "working" I think there should be someone that is with sales available. So 35-40 minutes in the place and received no help what so ever. I thought I would give them another shot and talked to someone online. I mentioned that I was interested in coming in to get my current vehicle appraised and talk some numbers but I could not commit to anything as my wife was working that night. So I go in and the manager approaches me as I walk in the door. GREAT! A much better start to the experience. Well it ended there. I got paired up with a salesman who took down what I was looking for. He then proceeded to go back to another office for about 30 minutes and offered me a slew of vehicles of which none matched what I told him I was looking for. He then tried to push me into either going to a higher or lower package because he wanted to move his stock (somewhat understandable). I mentioned again that I was simply going in to talk numbers and was not able to commit that evening. He then went back to the office for another 20 minutes to come back and say....well I doubt we can find anything for you but I'll fill this paper out and we can continue to look. He then leaves again for 10 minutes and comes back and tells me that his appraiser had gone home for the day (within the past 15 minutes) so he couldn't give me the value of my trade in. Then proceeds to tell me that well he can't go around giving his best numbers until I'm ready to make a deal and tells me that he'll only give me the regular MSRP, even though the website currently has it listed less than the regular. So now that I've wasted over 2 hours and the gas over there, I'm no further ahead. GOOD JOB!

I had a great first experience at the new Barrhaven Mazda, bringing in my trusty 2006 MPV for new brakes and other work. Mike and the crew there were conscientious, honest, and thorough in the work they did, and the price was more than fair. Frankly, I have always been leery about using dealers, for fear that they would overcharge. But this was not the case at Barrhaven Mazda, which is why it is now my repair shop of choice.
