Thinking of going to Haldimand motors? Don't, incompetent staff/mechanics. Let me drive off the lot with an unsafe vehicle. Check engine light was on when I drove off the lot ( probably failed a pre inspection.) I brought it in, they changed some sensors $385 dollars later I drove off the lot and the same thing happened, now they want to charge me $2,000 for a new catalytic converter. Which should have been replaced before the car was sold.

We have bought 2 cars from haldimand motors in the past 2 years ( due to the break down of our old clunkers), and each time we experienced fantastic service. Since the sales staff does not work on commission, there is no pressure push cars off the lot, which we found to be a breath of fresh air in comparison to some used car lots. The cars that we bought were quite honestly no different than any other car lot ( possibly a few hundred dollars cheaper due to the volume of cars they have on their lot), but the no bartering, honest sales staff, and quality upgrades that haldimand put on the car without raising the prices made all the difference in the world to us. Next time i buy a car they will be the first and last place i look. Thanks once again haldimand, but please don't take offence if i don't see you for a while. I am hoping these cars will last for a long while. :)

I went and bought a used car during the summer. It was a good price and suited my needs well. Buying it was painless and the price seemed pretty good.However, problems with Haldimand started when things started breaking down. First the fan and the AC went. I took it in for service and they fixed the fan, but they only topped up the AC with fluid and told me it was fixed.However, after a few days, it died again. So I decided to take it to an independent shop that I trusted, since I had purchased a coast to coast warranty from Haldimand. As it turns out, there were three things wrong with my AC and Haldimand was only willing to replace one of them. And it was a refurbished part at that. Complete AC repair would cost 1400 dollars, not to mention 1100 dollars for the other things the shop found wrong.So the conclusion is that while I love the car I got from them, there's no point in buying a warranty from Haldimand, as they will just try to avoid it or "fix" the car with crappy refurbished parts.
