The advisor I spoke with, in an attempt to describe herzing as a safe space for transgender folks, outed a trans student, revealed their personal information, misgendered them, conflated gender and sexual orientation and generally used inappropriate language around trans people. As a trans person, I did not feel safe at this campus and chose to attend another school. Rainbow Resource Centre in Winnipeg provides education that will rectify these problems.

Thank you very much for bringing this issue to our attention. We are very sorry that you had this experience and it is apparent that additional training in working with transgender individuals is required. We will be working with Admissions, and other staff as well, to ensure that nobody is outed, that they understand the difference between sexual orientation and gender expression, and that they are using the correct pronouns. The Rainbow Resource Centre is an excellent suggestion. Once again, we deeply regret this incident and are committed to being better.

This has been an okay experience for me so far. Considering the amount of money being paid to the school I believe that the materials provided and communication levels would be higher. As well providing the students details of what is required per lesson. I do like the course and what I am learning, however I feel it is poorly organized.

We are proud her mom & I, that our daughter is presently taking Health Care Aid, the school is good, helpful and she has done really well so far. However we feel dissapointed with the "Practicum" part of the course, where she is taken out onto the work force straightway expected to take on 8-10 clients by the end of the session. The workers on site she is partnered with are not friendly/positive people and constantly telling her she will fail the course. Had we known this part of the course was going to be this difficult we would have decided differently. Now we are sitting on the fence and about ready to pull her out if the negativety of those workers towards her continues, sorry that not everything goes perfectly as it should.
