An accommodating, hassle free experience

My husband and I came in to trade in a vehicle and lease the chev cruise. We were very pleased that we were able to do so without any hassles. The staff we had to work with were very pleasant.

Not how I expected things to go.

My husband had originally called Dale Jamieson about trading vehicles. When I went into the dealership I was automatically switched to Andrew Flowers. Would have appreciated the fact that we could deal with whom we want & not get pushed off to someone else. Upon finally finding a vehicle that worked for us I found that I was automatically pushed into the buying process - pressure to sign on the dotted line. I realize this may be the process but buying a vehicle signt unseen is a huge thing. The whole financial process was totally rushed - I never got to pick the payment date. We had to banter back & forth regarding the $40 for gas as well as the cost of the mud flaps & wheel locks that the previous dealer installed (total of $260). I get that the cost of that was charged to Hudson's which they then of course want to charge to the consumer. In previous experiences with this dealership & a previous salesman we have never had to worry about paying for such things. The salesmen need more authority to waive or eat some of these costs - seriously they should be able to say not to worry about a $40 charge. When I picked up the vehicle I got home to find that they had bent my licence plate in order to get it to fit in their dealership plate cover - let's just say the plate cover is no longer. Also I was not given the opportunity to do a complete inspection of the vehicle. When I got home my husband discovered a huge grease mark on the white interior door pillar - I will be contacting the dealership to show them the marks but we will clean it ourselves. The vehicle we traded in was in cleaner shape than the new one. I get that another department/person looks after the detailing - it should be immaculate & double checked for cleanliness. Finally I don't appreciate Andrew counciling me on how to rate the survey. I have worked in the financial industry myself for 30 years. We also have survey's that go out to clients. We don't make a habit of telling them to answer all 5's. The whole point of a survey is to find ways to improve & that will never happen if everyone is councelled otherwise. Let's be real. In the end we feel that we could have got a better deal elsewhere (no negotiation on the price). If it wasn't for the fact of the convenience of this dealership we probably would have bought elsewhere. It shouldn't matter what we are buying & the price - the service & customer treatment should be the same. Thanks. Trish Diniz
