I brought my car in for two recalls, which I was told is a free service. After asking 3 different times to two different people if I would be charged anything during my visit, and being told NO, they went ahead and charged me for an hour of work on something I merely had a question about. When I ask “is this visit going to cost anything?” And I’m told no multiple times, I don’t want to be charged for ANYTHING. It was never once mentioned to me that I would be paying money. I voiced my frustration to my service rep, Cody, who said he would see what could be done and call me back, but he never called and I had to quickly drive in before they closed, otherwise I probably wouldn’t have heard back. Still extremely dissapointed with my service today. Their service reps should do a much better job at being transparent with their customers.

Hello Trevor. I've had a chance to review your file and I see that we did in fact complete two safety campaigns on your vehicle, resulting in no cost to you. At the same time you also asked that we look into issues you were having with power steering. For only one hour's labour we were able to diagnose and repair your car. It is only reasonable to expect that there would be an invoice for repairs that have been made by a factory trained, journeyman technician. In your case, taking age and mileage of the vehicle into consideration, we provided some assistance in the form of a steep discount on the repair. So March 18 at 10:08 am approx. called amp.about why key fob wouldn't work not even 18 mths old and hardly used to open door or trunk on 2017 Cruz? Had to use phone app to get into car then it said key fob not found when it was sitting on console. After pushing start button few times it worked and has since. I get transferred to a service advisor I thought but no answer just voice mail..about half hour later get call back told what was wrong and answer was I have no idea I will put you over to a service advisor where I was suppose to be in first place a d again voice mail . It is now mar.19 5pm and no call back on my problem . This is the 3rd time in 18 months this useless service at smp.has done this. I get calls from them to bring my car in so they can charge me for what ever service they tell you that is needed but when you need an answer from them they ignore you like the plague. I have even left voice mail.with service manager before and no return call. I have no sympathy for this place and is why I drive a few blocks north east of there and get everything for service you can imagine and a call back if you have questions. I recommend others drive a few blocks also cause the ignorance is unbelievable at one of the two.

I’ve purchased 3 cars from SMP, and I’ve never had issues until recently. I purchased a Lincoln from them, and their service department called me constantly for service even before I actually needed it. I decided to book with them and that was the worst idea I’ve ever had. Most places will do an oil change and an inspection for $90, but SMP charged me $240. Now I just can’t get gas and groceries for the next 4 weeks because they like to gouge their customers, and when I contacted them nobody ever got back to me. Also, not like I expected it, but everyone else I know who’s purchased cars usually get at least 1 free oil change, and while I don’t expect them to throw in free oil changes I do expect they don’t charge me $240 for an oil change and an inspection.
