I couldn't believe when they told me that they couldn't remove my security lug nuts because they didn't have the proper tool to do the job. They had taken them off many times in the past but apparently none of the master tools fit. At least not until they charged me money. I spent $52 for 4 lug nuts and then I had to pay another $114 to have them taken off and replaced with regular lug nuts. It's amazing they could do the job as soon as I agreed to pay. It took less than 5 minutes. I have bought 5 new vehicles through SMP but never will they see another penny from me. That's how they treat a long term customer. I would give them a zero if it was possible

I want to clarify the situation regarding the security lug nuts. We understand your frustration, but we do not have master keys for all locking wheel nuts across every vehicle. Each security lug nut set comes with a unique key, and it is standard practice for customers to keep this key within their vehicle for service needs. In this instance, since the specific key for your nuts was not available, we had to resort to removing them by forcibly removing them which, unfortunately, renders them unusable. This procedure required your permission before we could proceed, as it's a destructive method. Our technicians dedicated approximately 30 minutes to carefully removing these lug nuts at your request, a process that goes beyond a standard tire service. The charges reflected the time and specialized effort involved in this non-routine procedure, in addition to the cost of replacing the lug nuts with standard ones. We truly value your loyalty as a customer who has purchased five new vehicles from us, and we are genuinely sorry that this recent experience has jeopardized your trust. We are committed to ensuring our customers have a positive experience, and we would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this further with you directly to address any remaining concerns.

I wish they were more honest and forthcoming about smoke smell in vehicle. Ozone machines do a great job at covering up smoke smell for a short period of time which I learned the hard way. It doesn’t remove the smell. It masks it for a period of time. I also learned that some dealers don’t even take smoker vehicles in for this exact thing that’s happened to me or if they do they discount it and disclose that it might not ever come out. I’d expect a big dealer like smp to be more honest and willing to rectify the situation without me losing a ton of money.

A year ago we purchased a 2023 SUV and the sales people (Krista and Brendan) were exceptionally helpful. I would give 5 stars for their help in that regard. Recently however, we made an appointment for an oil change on our 2011 Silverado, apparently through a booking agent in Ontario. When we brought the vehicle in, Rebecca said the oil change was $109 and did we want the vehicle inspection done for $119? We thought sure, for an extra $10 they could check the fluid levels and do the oil change. She said it would take all day, which confused us, as it was only an oil change and check the fluids. At the end of the day we went to pick up the vehicle, and were presented with an invoice for over $300! To say we were upset is an understatement! It turns out that the vehicle inspection involved many more aspects of checking the vehicle over, including rotating the tires, which we did not want to have done. Rebecca was unwilling to give any leeway on the invoice, and we ended up speaking with Management. They gave us a credit for an oil change as compensation. As we had just had an oil change done on our SUV and now on the Silverado, this won't be required for some time. On our drive home, once we hit the highway, the steering wheel started shaking unbelievably. We ended up going to Market Tire, where we had the tires balanced for an additional $160. Market Tire indicated that if the tires were going to be rotated, they should have been balanced as well. Not impressed with the service we received.
