Recently I purchased a 2010 used Avenger, with -very- low kms. 21000... Impressive find, to be honest. Most cars that age have a lot more distance on them and I thought it was a good find. Driving off of the lot, I hit the trip odometer... I didn't even get 30km and the car died outright. The electrical system was fried. I was on a first date at the time, and I had to get her to drive ME home. Embarrassed to say the least! The fuse board was completely shot and needed to be replaced. My confidence in my purchase was utterly obliterated at this point. I had to get it towed at midnight, no less...huuuuge inconvenience, utterly stressful. I got set up with a rental as it was still under warranty but I didn't get my car back for a week. I immediately informed the dealer that I'd be enacting my 30 day exchange clause. I looked at a comparable car, a high KM 2011... they weren't willing to come down on the sticker price -at all-. In what world is a 2010 with 22,000 km with $4,400 less than a 2011 RENTAL RETURN with 54,000km!?!? Then came in the business manager to feed me double talk, trying to browbeat me into a sale.... trying to make it sound like this is the best car in the world, blah blah blah. It's like it doesn't even factor in that they sold me a LEMON and they took ZERO responsibility for that. SMP Saskatoon will never see my business again, and I would -STRONGLY- urge you to look elsewhere.

Shane, After reviewing your comments, we would like to bring attention to the actual events that occurred. It is both true and unfortunate that you had a problem with the vehicle you purchased from us at SMP. As you would agree with all manufacturers’ vehicles, sometimes breakdowns occur with no signs or warnings. When you first informed your sales person that your vehicle broke down and that it was towed to the local Dodge dealership, without skepticism we arranged a rental vehicle for you. The sales person even drove out to your home and brought you straight to the rental company with full knowledge that SMP was paying the full bill of the rental unit, as Dodge was not providing you with transportation. Your vehicle was in being repaired for one week so we made sure you had a suitable vehicle to get around without any additional inconvenience to you. You stated that your confidence in your 2010 Dodge Avenger was lacking, so you instigated GM’s optimum certified 30 day exchange privilege program which we had discussed. At SMP we strive to make sure all our customers are not only happy, but also satisfied with us.

No matter how many questions I had or how much I waived between two vehicles, Dan's team was always quick to reply in a courteous manner and provide me with the information I needed to make a decision I am happy with.
