Very disappointing when it comes to transparency. We thought we were getting $8800 for our trade in, turns out we were getting $8000 with tax saving amount of $800. They told us we were getting $8800. We assumed that was just the amount for the trade in. Our mistake by not asking the question prior to signing the paper. The dealer also knew when we were talking trade in price we were talking trade in value with no tax savings. Next time we will be going through Barber Motors.

I recently visited SMP Chevrolet for an oil change, and my overall experience was quite disappointing. The first time, they recommended a full service package for $2000, which I agreed to. However, on my second visit for a routine oil change, they insisted on a $3000 full service, claiming issues that were not present before. Prior to the second visit, my car was in good condition with no leaks, but suddenly they mentioned problems with various systems and pipes, which I found hard to believe. It became evident that they were not being truthful about the condition of my car. This experience has left me unsatisfied and distrustful of SMP Chevrolet's service. I won't be returning, and I would caution others to be wary of unnecessary service recommendations.

Hello Ashay, I have had the opportunity to review the details of your Service visits. I see during the visit last fall we completed a number of repairs on your vehicle as well as a full inspection and some requested maintenance, and the total invoice was just under $1,400. Recently, we installed a battery because the vehicle was not starting, completed a brake flush, and did some other testing as requested, and that invoice was just under $700. I apologize if the information we presented to you felt like overselling, but we are obligated to tell you what General Motors recommended maintenance entails, as well as what is wrong with your car. Perhaps we could have done a better job of reviewing immediate repairs required versus recommended maintenance. With a 10 year old car, it is not unusual to have to a do a little "catch up" with respect to maintenance, but it does not all have to be completed at once. I recently had an experience where a part was not ordered by the parts department and put my car on hold for a day. However, Michael the assistant manager in the service department followed up with me. He was very apologetic and wanted to make things right. So he offered me a free oil change and I accepted. I am very pleased that he checked in with me. It was appreciated and it showed that they do care about their customers.Crystal in the service department was also really friendly and great to deal with. I will definitely have them service my vehicle next time! This is also where I bought my beauty of a Camaro from. I never ever want to get rid of it. I am extremely happy with my vehicle!

I try not to be negative but I wasn’t impressed today, first off the girl who helped me should have known that with only 6500km on my car anything should be warranty, she wanted to charge me for them to look at my brakes that were squealing. It was all warranty work! NEXT the waiting room was anything but homey and inviting…the terrible music blasting was anything except relaxing and it was so cold in there that all the staff were Walking around with big downed filled winter coats…WTH!!! Not impressed!

Hi Tracy, it appears we could have communicated better with respect to diagnosis of the brake noise, and help you understand why it is necessary to authorize diagnosis time. Although rare, sometimes even relatively new vehicles can have a concern which is not a factory defect, and therefore not under warranty. In the case of your 2 year old vehicle with low mileage for example, a stone was caught in the brakes and, because it did not leave the factory like that, the condition is not one that is covered by factory warranty. Nonetheless, we did look at your brakes without cost to you, and we are glad the concern is gone. Concerning the temperature in the dealership, it can get a little cooler in the store, especially when the wind is blowing. We have 4 overhead doors in the Service drive, 9 in the Service shop, one for the wash bay, one for Parts shipping and receiving, etc, and we all share the same air. Sometimes the heaters struggle to keep up when too many doors are open. When it is cold and we are very busy, it is hard to avoid, but we will try. Finally, music genre and volume is selected in a somewhat democratic manner, and as in any democracy not every decision is satisfactory for every person, and c'est la vie. We do appreciate constructive feedback and always like to hear from our customers.
