Took vehicle in for a touch screen that wouldn't work to touch, $400 later they tell me that it doesn't work and needs replacing. Thought that was already established... Will never go back and don't recommend anyone to take vehicle there.

Hello T K, I have had the opportunity to look into your case. I see that your vehicle came in for diagnosis of the radio control not working. With your permission, 2 hours of electrical diagnoses were carried out. General Motors Service Information (SI) procedures were followed in a proper, stepwise and systematic manner. There were two Technical Service Bulletin procedures carried out. One was to reprogram the radio, the other was to reprogram the HMI (human-machine interface) module. After that was completed, all circuits on the radio screen were tested, but none failed. At that point the General Motors Technical Assistance Centre in Oshawa, ON was contacted, and engineers assisted in determining exactly which part needed to be replaced in order repair the concern. A repair estimate was presented, which only included an additional half hour of labour, but you declined repairs at this time. Please keep in mind that repairs completed at a GM facility, using genuine GM OEM parts, have a 3-year/60,000 km parts and labour warranty. That is, if the part fails, not only is the part covered but the labour to replace the part, including any diagnosis needed, is also covered. Level of service unacceptable. Booked vehicle for service 1 week ahead of time online. Verified appointment 3 days before. Brought vehicle in at 7am to be picked up at 4pm for standard brake service. Went in to pick up truck and pay bill at 4pm and was told that it won't be done today as they were backed up! If you are too busy stop taking appointments and offer another day! Gentlemen ahead of me was employed in real estate sales and needed his car. This was the second day in a row they did this to him - he was livid! My service contact told me to bring it in again tomorrow, I asked her if she can guarantee me that it would be done as I need my vehicle - SHE SHRUGGED HER SHOULDERS!!!!!!! The level of not understanding how this affects people is unacceptable. All of this after I spent $3,200.00 of my hard earned money with SMP on repairs 1 month ago. She could have had the smallest bit of empathy and a possible remedy or appeasement. I WILL GET THE WORK DONE AT YOUR COMPETITION CHEV DEALER AND WILL NOT BE BACK UNTIL THIS IS REMEDIED. YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN!!!
