After years of being unfulfilled with my career I decided to return to school as a mature student. I researched local schools and found that Westervelt had what I was looking for. I was very nervous about going back to school at this stage in my life but I was blessed with an amazing teacher (Tammy) who has helped me so much in the time I have been at Westervelt. She has been so very welcoming and accepting of everyone. She has helped me to restore my faith in myself and believe in my capabilities in my dental program. She is always here for Us with any questions or concerns we may have. I needed to get a part time job in my field of study since OSAP didn't cover all expenses and Tammy went out of her way to help me find a position very quickly. I owe her alot and don't know what I would do without her. I feel so very lucky to have her as my teacher. I can't wait to see what the future holds.

MOA course

All i can say is as a Mature student going back to classroom was very intimidating or so I thought it would be. The excellent teachings of Mer fit so well into my wheel house. She is very informative, thorough, understanding and most of all very approachable. Without her i don't think i would have succeeded as well as i have. I know i am prepared to go into my placement and excel. I really think she is an awesome teacher and it would be a fantastic course to take.

Amazing experience. Hired right out of school in my field of study, and that was in big part due to my teacher, Ms Merr. She was so supportive, and extremely knowledgeable, with many years in the field to draw on. My life got crazy part way through and she helped me every step of the way and made sure I could complete my course. Can’t recommend her as a teacher enough. You’ll never find a teacher more compassionate, intelligent, and funny as her. Thanks for everything Merr!

Awesome Program & Amazing Instructor!

Since I am considered to be a "mature student", I was absolutely terrified of going back to school, especially college. I was told by so many individuals how hard college is, how the work load is overwhelming, once you fall behind there's no catching up and your instructor couldn't care less if you pass their course or fail, regardless of what you may be experiencing in your personal life. After a few months in the CYC program with Casey Blackmore, I realized everything those people told me about college and my teacher, couldn't be further from the truth. Casey, is very understanding, compassionate, empathetic and overall an amazing human being. She has made this program as stress free as possible for all of her students. Casey, has not only turned our classroom into a fun learning environment, she also made us feel like a family, where we laugh together, cry together and support one another. I have never had good experiences in a classroom setting, let alone amazing experiences. That was until I met Casey Blackmore. Thank you Casey, for everything!

I very much enjoyed taking the MOA course with Ms Merr. After years of putting it off because I thought there was no way I would be able to go back and learn anything, I figured I would just do it! 1 year later I'm in a placement using all of the things I learned throughout the course and loving it! Ms Merr was always there to help with anything I needed. Keeping me on track and making sure I was confident in all the things. She really was the teacher I needed to succeed! I recommend taking this course! It changed my life!
