We very much enjoyed our recent purchase of a new Audi Q5 at Audi West. Our sales representative and customer service rep were both most pleasant and professional in their meetings with us. We strongly endorse this dealership.

I went to have my summer tires installed on my Q3, on Friday, April 16th. I went in the dealership (service area) and was "greeted" by a rude and unprofessional receptionist. No hello, no how are you. All she said to me in an abrupt tone was: "you here for service? Write your name & phone number here and put your keys in the envelope". I couldn't believe it. I just looked at her and went to sit down. She had the same demeanor with the other customers who came after me. I did complain to the service manager and the dealership manager who were very apologetic. Nevertheless, this was another bad experience at this particular dealership. From rude and unprofessional service to them lying about stuff that needed to get done on my car that did not need to be done . I wanted to change my current Q3 for another Audi but after this last experience, I decided to trade-in my Audi for another car.

My wife and I were very excited when we purchased the SQ5 last year. We also purchased a bumper to bumper extended warranty as repair cost can be expensive. This is the first warranty claim I’ve made with Audi or any other auto manufacture in several years. If this is a sign of things to come from Audi it will not be a pleasant experience. The steering wheel adjustment switch failed and wouldn’t allow us to adjust the steering wheel. I was told that the switch was repaired and not replaced. The service manager assumed that it may have been struck by someone entering or existing the vehicle. There wasn’t any indication that the switch was struck in any way but the manager explained that Audi warranty would not cover that cost as they didn’t have any proof that the switch was defective. Mechanical components can and do fail internally without any external indication. The steering wheel adjustment switch is located in a channel that protects the switch from being struck directly. My concern with this incorrect assessment/assumption is that when it does fail again I will be told that it will not be covered under warranty and that I would have to pay for my steering column to be disassembled in order to replace the defective switch at a significantly higher cost. The service manager was unable to provide proof to me that the switch was damaged by someone entering or leaving the vehicle. I find ironic that the service department is more concerned with providing proof of a defect to the factory than a customer. I believe Audi service has their priority wrong. My concern is that Audi service will try to pass the blame on to customers without any supporting proof. This is completely unacceptable. One final note about our Audi experience. This google review is in lieu of the Audi review I tried to complete in detail for this very specific service request but didn’t go through to Audi as there was a server error message when I submitted. I didn’t want to waste anymore time with the Audi survey as the server could fail again. Server errors have happened in the past with Audi like the time I tried to setup Audi connect and was told by Audi to keep trying until it connects. Eventually after several attempts Audi confirmed that they had to perform something at their end in order to activate Audi connect.

We appreciate the feedback we get from our customers and take them very seriously. In reviewing your review and the facts of the service file, we disagree with your assessment. As part of protocol, we took pictures of the steering wheel adjustment switch that you described, as you came in for service. The picture shows the switch pushed in and angled downward. It was clearly stuck in place. We then carried out remedial work, first with a view of restoring the operation of the current switch. Good news is we were successful and your steering wheel column adjustment switch is now in its proper position and fully operational. If the switch had been damaged beyond our capacity to restore its usage, a replacement part would not have been covered under warranty, as given the way it was brought to us. It would not be considered as a defect of the part, but rather usage. Really liked the service and found that we could respect each other. Came threw with a very pleasant experience overall. Was just a little disappointed that I never got my second key for my new car. When I traded in my used car I thought that I had both keys but only had one. I thought that they might at least give me the second key to my new A6 with the money I paid but It was like that didn't matter no second key for my used Honda no new key. Other than that I really liked my experience. I will be back I think but will make sure I get both keys to a new car. I did say I would pay for the second key but no one responded back to me for how much or when I could get it.
