Motor Oil

On the recent oil change for my 2020 Toyota RAV4, 0W20 oil was used instead of 0W16 as called for in the owners manual. On speaking to the service advisor, he stated that 0W16 is not available at this time. I was not informed of the change and happened to see it in the service sheet I was given. I want the correct oil to be installed when it is available.

Overall okay experience

I went for them to check my oil and see if it needed to be changed or if I could still go until the end of my kilometers that they originally wrote down at my service update appointment. They changed it without telling me how many km I had left to go so that I could decide if I wanted to change it or wait a bit longer. As a first time car owner, I don't know exactly what the car needs and when, and it would have been nice to have the people you are paying for service help you understand when to change oil. Felt a bit taken advantage of, especially as a student that does not have the money to be wasting on early oil changes. Other than that I felt comfortable leaving my car with the workers. They did a good job, and I appreciate that they were clean and did not dirty the inside while sitting in the car to move it, like other places have done before. They were very polite, just needed more communication!

Recheck of previous repair.

I thought a previous repair was still leaking as there had been some liquid on my garage floor after that repair. The mechanic showed me that the repair was not dripping. The mechanic shampooed the engine and there have been no new drops on my garage floor. There was no charge for this service visit.
