Against my better judgement I once again came back to trade in my vehicle with smp , and yet again I was lied to and pressured into a sale which I can admit is a little on me for not walking away , but what really has me upset was the assurance from my salesman plus his manager he called over who assured me that my current winter tires and rims will fit this vehicle. But as I found out today they do not and if I want winter tires and rims I will now be forced to spend more money because I was lied to to get a sale , I will definitely not be returning to smp for anything and I will make sure everyone I come in contact with knows about their business practices and how greasy they are

Today we purchased a car from Saskatoon Motor Products (SMP), but unfortunately, our overall experience left us disappointed. Initially, we visited the dealership yesterday to check out a car and discussed trading in our vehicle. The team gave us a trade-in value, which we agreed to as a fallback in case we didn’t sell the car privately. Importantly, no final decision was made about purchasing the car, and no negotiations took place. However, when we returned today with family members, who have been in Saskatoon for over 15 years, the situation escalated unexpectedly. The sales representative, Brendan, seemed displeased with the presence of my family members and reacted aggressively, accusing my brother of trying to sabotage the deal. This accusation was completely unfounded and crossed a line, as it had nothing to do with the business transaction. Brendan even claimed we were “morally obligated” to buy the car and used inappropriate language, which was both unprofessional and disrespectful. He stormed out of the room, leaving us shocked by the behavior. Thankfully, Amar Deep stepped in and calmly explained the pricing, which was appreciated. However, another member of the sales team falsely presented someone as the General Manager when we requested to speak to one. This lack of honesty further tarnished the experience, and there was no apology when the truth came out. While we ultimately bought the car because we liked it, the customer service we experienced today was far from acceptable. As customers making a significant financial decision, we deserved to be treated with respect, transparency, and professionalism—none of which were consistently present during our interactions. It’s unfortunate that a dealership with such a strong inventory allowed the behavior of one staff member to overshadow the entire process. I hope SMP takes this feedback seriously and addresses how they handle customer concerns in the future, as I would hesitate to recommend this dealership to friends based on our experience.

Today’s visit was extremely disappointing. The vehicle was purchased just a year ago and we are now being told we have to pay app $5000 for parts and repair. This is it acceptable and I will be taking this up with management

Thank you for our conversation on Saturday morning regarding the suggested repairs. With the vehicle having accumulated 30,000 kilometers over the past year, totaling 130,000 kilometers, it is anticipated that standard wear and tear would result. This has led to some looseness in the rear knuckles and bearings. The estimated repair cost is $3909 plus taxes, and we are happy to extend a discount should you choose to proceed with the repairs. It is important to recognize that this maintenance concern is not due to any specific individual, but rather a natural outcome of regular vehicle operation at this mileage. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly at 306-242-0276. Rick Correia, General Sales Manager.
