WHERE HAS ALL THE CUSTOMER SEVICE GONE! MY LETTER TO ALL UPPER MANGMENT It is with great disappointment, frustration, and sadness that I find myself compelled to write this letter. I regret having to take time out of my day to address this issue, and I am equally sorry that you must read this message from a deeply dissatisfied customer. I have made every effort to resolve this matter through the proper channels at Jim Thompson Chrysler, located at 805 Gardiners Road, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. I followed the dealership’s escalation process step by step, only seeking to move to higher levels of management when no progress could be made. Despite my repeated attempts, I am still left without a resolution. In October 2021, I purchased a 2021 Dodge Ram Warlock from that dealership. As part of the purchase, I added several upgrades, including tinted windows, a tire and wheel package, side-step railings, a trailer hitch and receiver, and a tonneau cover. All these items were purchased through the dealership and ready for installation upon delivery of my truck. My interactions with my sales representative, Chris White, started off positively. While Chris occasionally forgot details we had agreed upon, he honored them when reminded. However, the situation took a drastic turn when my tonneau cover broke on September 21, 2024. While closing the tonneau cover after loading my daughter’s hockey equipment, the latch broke off on one side and fell into the truck bed. Upon attempting to unlatch the other side, the entire mechanism detached and fell into my hand. Initially, I wasn’t overly concerned, as Chris had assured me during the sale that the tonneau cover came with a 5-year warranty and an extended 15-year warranty. On September 23, 2024 I brought my truck to the service department to report the issue. Chris took photos to send to the supplier, Auto Add Ons, who had apparently provided the tonneau cover. I was surprised to learn that the cover wasn’t a Dodge product but accepted this information in good faith. After two weeks without any updates, I contacted Chris, who informed me that Auto Add Ons had claimed the damage was due to a break-in attempt, voiding the warranty. I explained that this claim was baseless: there was no evidence of a break-in, no police report, and my driveway camera footage confirmed the absence of such an event. Despite this, Auto Add Ons stood by their decision. Feeling dismissed, I asked Chris for the names of his managers. I was directed to Ryan Martin, the Sales Manager, and Shaun Whitman, the General Manager. After a delay in scheduling, I finally met with Ryan Martin on November 13, 2024. Ryan assured me he would handle the matter, but two weeks passed with no updates. I reached out repeatedly, only to be told the same unhelpful information Chris had already provided. Frustrated, I requested a meeting with Shaun Whitman through his assistant, Jessica Therrien. Unfortunately, Shaun was unavailable for some time, and I agreed to Jessica’s suggestion to try resolving the matter with Ryan Martin first. By December 2, 2024, I contacted Jessica again to explain that Ryan had failed to address the issue and was avoiding my calls. I emphasized my dissatisfaction and reiterated my request for a meeting with Shaun. Jessica eventually confirmed that she was working on scheduling the appointment, but communication from her also stalled. Adding to my frustration, Ryan Martin emailed me suggesting I purchase a new tonneau cover at a discounted rate or claim the issue through my insurance—essentially advising me to commit fraud. This suggestion was not only unethical but deeply offensive. This entire experience has left me feeling disregarded, disrespected, and lied to by your dealership. I have been forced to chase after employees and managers for basic responses, endure unethical advice, and navigate a process that seems designed to wear customers down until they give up. As of May 25, 2025, I have yet to hear back from Shaun Whitman. I am now escalating this matter in hopes that it can be resolved fairly.

I previously had a large A/C repair done the summer before which had an issue following the Winter. When I brought it back in they immediately identified the issue and booked it in very quick and honored the warranty on the parts and labour. I got the car back a day earlier than I expected and was very impressed with the customer service. I highly recommend this shop!
