Awesome vehicles- service is a headache Bought a great truck from SMP and have been really enjoying the vehicle. There were a few recalls, and I was hoping to get a remote starter installed, so I brought the vehicle in for service. They had my truck for two days, and ended up not getting the recalls done correctly and installed the wrong starter. Initially, SMP denied any responsibility, and was going to charge me to remove the wrong starter. There was a lot of trouble in getting anyone to get back to me. After a lot of back and forth over a few weeks it sounds like they’ll put in the right starter and fix the recalls in another trip to the dealership. As an update: turns out SMP sends out remote starters to a third party, Nextgen Auto. Remote starters these days have a long list of vehicles that are approved to work. Turns out, NextGen puts starters in vehicles that aren't on the list, so they don't work. Thanks to SMP and Nextgen, I'm out a thousand bucks and a cold Saskatchewan winter without a remote starter.
