We had an absolutely horrible experience dealing with SMP when purchasing a car for our son. We understand that things can go wrong with used cars, however the extent of things that went wrong with this car is astronomical. We were quick to take it in when we noticed an oil leak and they brushed us off and said it was nothing after doing an oil change on the car. We brought it back a month or so later after it continued to leak oil and this time they told us the engine and transmission needed to be replaced. They were going to charge is $13,000 to replace both. We had purchased extended warranty for the transmission and had previously brought it in because we knew something was wrong with it but they brushed us off until it ended up escalating to more significant damage. We had to fight with them tooth and nail to cover part of the cost of the replacements. When we got it back the transmission was slipping out of gear so we had to bring it back in again. After all the money and effort put into fixing the car we wanted to trade it in for a down-payment on a different vehicle. We've spent over $17,000 on this car and they offered us $1,500 then upped it to $4,000 and that was "the best they could do" in their words. They wouldn't even bargain on a lower price on the other vehicle we were looking at. They said they've "already lost too much money". They've officially lost loyal customers due to their lack professionalism and greed.

I told the service advisor what the issue was and they gave me the truck back, telling me exactly what I told them and then charged their sales customer $250 for no service.

Service cold-calls you and they are super pushy, rude, and obnoxious. They don't let you talk. They try to force you to book an appointment for service. They don't say hi, how are you etc.. just straight into their sales pitch. Exactly the same as a telemarketer. They tried to book me for a lube/oil/filter... on my electric vehicle. Had to hang up, she wouldn't let me talk without having to talk over her.
