Where to begin. Bought used in Dec. 2023. Within 90 days, back in their shop for 2 x $500 jobs, each with a $149 diag fee (even though the truck didn't even leave the shop / the truck was not fixed after the 1st $500 job). Then BLOWN TRANNY ($6000)! BLOWN WATER PUMP ($500)! Now back in the shop! BLOWN WHEEL BEARINGS! BLOWN TRANSFER CASE! BOTH CV AXLES BLOWN! BLOWN BATTERY! BLOWN STARTER! FRONT BRAKES AT 10% (I've put on <15,000 kms)! Total of 5 tows to and from different shops, I got to know Gil over at D & R Towing really well over the last year. Looks like SMP took this POS on trade and flipped it without even looking at it. Cool. Also looks like these guys subscribe to the EXACT OPPOSITE of one of my favorite Glengarry Glen Ross quotes: 'Don't sell a guy one car. Sell him five cars over fifteen years.' It's my mistake for not taking it for a day and running it through a third-party shop, although I was assured they ran it through theirs, so why would I? Hard and very expensive lesson learned. You've got a day or 2 to change your mind. If you are buying used from SMP, pay no attention to whatever shop report they give you. Take the vehicle to a third-party shop for a check up. ----- Thanks for the cheap, stock reply, Rick. After searching my VIN in your system, you'll see that I have put on around 25,000 kms since I bought my truck, but I am sure you can also see the BLOWN TRANNY was removed in Oct of last year, after about 10 months and like I said, LESS THAN 15,000 kms. $893?? After 16 months, I am into this thing for between $8000-$9000 after your 'thorough inspection.' Search my phone number too, because you are welcome to call me anytime to discuss.

Hi Rob, I want to start by reassuring you that all of our external vendors are fully accredited and trained to handle vehicle repairs, with customer safety always being our top priority. Regarding the vehicle you purchased, it had 257,xxx kms at the time of sale and was a pre-owned unit. Before delivery, it was thoroughly inspected, and we carried out $893.31 in repairs. Unfortunately, as is often the case, we cannot predict or control unexpected issues that may arise after the sale—especially after you've added 25,xxx kms. If you'd like, we’d be happy to provide a quote for the necessary repairs, and we may also be able to offer a high-mileage discount. You are welcome to call to discuss further. Rick M. For a car that was bought a year ago for CAD 26k and has driven 10k km, they offer CAD 9k. And the car is still in excellent condition. I wonder, if I buy a car from them and come to them to sell it the next day, how much will they offer for it. I'm sure it's less than twice.

Hi Maksym, I understand your frustration regarding the valuation of your vehicle. When we determine the value of a vehicle, we refer to several trusted sources, including OpenLane, V-Auto, and current listings in our marketplace. We also take into account factors such as accident history, the vehicle’s place of origin, and any reconditioning costs. Every valuation is carefully calculated to ensure we neither undervalue nor overvalue a vehicle. In your case, it seems like you were expecting a market value based on what an end user would pay. However, please note that we are not the end user, and our valuation reflects what we would pay in the context of trade-ins. That being said, I would be happy to review the trade value again to confirm that it's accurate. Feel free to call me if you'd like to discuss this further. Rick M. Correia General Sales Manager

Previous time they did well. But this time the shuttle services and coordinations related to that was toi slow. Finally, I got an Uber (from my own pocket) to go to SMP and picked up my car.

Buying was no problem, but the service department is a joke. They book appointments no problem but can't seem to get things fixed. Took the vehicle home twice with them not even looking at it. I live out of the city so every time we just keep having to bring it back for another appointment hoping that this is the time they get it fixed. Had enough the sales team can thank the service department for loosing them a customer.
