My MDX was making a loud noise that sounded like a muffler was dragging on the ground, which happened every time I drove it around for more than 20 minutes. I recorded the sound on my phone and played it to Acura, paid for them to diagnosis it as the prop shaft needing to be replaced and paid $1370 for this last October. Within a matter of days (once I again drove it for longer than 20 minutes) the same sound was still there. My husband immediately called Acura to notify them the vehicle was not fixed. I am a teacher, and cannot just take time off of work to bring my car in so the next time I could schedule maintenance was a few months later during Christmas break. Unfortunately my father passed away during Christmas break so we had to cancel our appointment and then rescheduled for my next time off work, which was March break. We brought my MDX in and again, played the exact same video. This time they say its' a different part that needs replacing (half shaft) for the EXACT NOISE they never fixed the first time and it would cost an ADDITIONAL $1345.00. We refused to pay this as this was their mistake the first time around. We incorrectly assumed that Acura was going to replace this part at their cost because we paid for a problem to be fixed that was never fixed. After driving the MDX around again, quickly realized the car was never fixed. Called Acura and they said they are not in the business to fix cars for free and have zero acknowledgment and will not take responsibility for the simple fact that we paid for a problem to be corrected and it was not. My question to Acura is why do they think it's acceptable practice to expect and think it's okay to continually charge customers while they "attempt" to fix a problem? They are supposed to be knowledgeable in this area. I shouldn't have to continuously pay for a service over and over again while they take "their best guess" of what's wrong and attempt to fix it. To make matters for Acura even worse, once I was off work for the summer I brought my MDX to another mechanic. Again, I played the EXACT same video to him that I played to Acura. Without charging me to diagnosis he informs me that the shield behind the rotor was bent and rubbing when rotor would expand. Cost to fix it? UNDER $100!!!! And it's actually fixed!!! Waited an entire month to MAKE SURE sound is gone, and went back to Acura to notify them of this, and they won't refund. If we would have listened to Acura we would have been out $3000 just to NOT have the problem fixed when it was literally a $90 fix that an experienced mechanic was able to detect immediately. It's a simple as this: you pay for a repair, you should leave with your car repaired! You shouldn't EVER have to keep paying an auto repair shop for each "attempt" to fix your car. I am in the market to buy a new vehicle in 2024 and guess what? It will never be an Acura again.

Really satisfied with the service department! I had issues with my car and Acura took care of everything for me without any delays or hassle!
