Buying a new or used car has never been a pleasant experience, until now. Bank Street KIA was amazing. From the moment I contacted them to the time I finalized the purchase I never felt pressured or uneasy. All decisions were made upon a complete understanding. This is my second time purchasing a vehicle at Bank Street Kia. I must say, I absolutely love my new Kia Telluride. Kia is a brand I have grown to love and trust however, I just wish the purchasing experience was better. Because the salesman was busy with another client, I was dealing with one of the managers. He was friendly and respected our time. We came to an agreement on price in a reasonable timeframe although he did say one price was the lowest he could go. When I was ready to walk out the door because I had been offered a better price on the Hyundai Palisade, he quickly said he could do a better price. It’s sales tactics that are outdated. I must prefer someone to be upfront and honest with me. Overall though he was easy to deal with. Unfortunately when we were moved to the finance department the pushiness to sell warranties and upgrades were too much for my liking. I’ve had bad experiences with extended warranties in the past (as most of us have) and Sunny just kept trying to sell me all these warranties. I didn’t buy any warranties that day. When I got a call from Sunny saying my vehicle would be ready for pick up in a few days, he tried to sell the warranties again, I told him I wasn’t interested but he kept recommending it. When he called to set up a time to pick up the vehicle he tried pushing the warranties again. I declined all warranties that time again except for the rustproofing as they dropped the price for it (only agreed because I was going to get rust proofing done on the vehicle anyway, just not at Kia). When I picked up the vehicle there was a rust proofing module put on my vehicle which we did not agree to (we agreed to the undercoating). I questioned Thomas the salesmen who showed my vehicle to me and he said to ask Sunny as he couldn’t confirm why the rust module was put on instead of undercoating. I appreciated Thomas being honest and not making up some lie. Thomas was friendly to deal with but didn’t show me anything inside the car, only lifted the hood, opened the doors and trunk and that was it for delivery of the vehicle. When we went back to sign the final paperwork with Sunny, I asked him why the rust module was put on instead of the undercoating and he was quick to say it was because it was a white car. I am currently pregnant and pregnancy brain is a real thing so I didn’t push for more answers as I was then questioning myself if I heard wrong at our initial meeting. I was still unsure about the answer he gave me because I had the rust module in my old Kia vehicle and my Kia Soul rusted and they wouldn’t cover it because of the way the rust happened. When I got home to check the original warranties offered to me the rust module option was scratched out, so undercoating was the only option. I reached out to Sunny asking for an explanation why the rust module was put on my new vehicle. He took a few days to write me back, when he did there was no explanation but did say he could get me in to remove it and have my car undercoated. That appointment has been booked and completed and I was very happy with the communications I had with Dave in the service department. Overall Kia has great products but the old pushy sale tactics and dishonesty is not how I like to do business. I am in sales for a living and I am always honest and upfront with my clients, I don’t tell them one price and say it’s my best price then turn around and lower it when they want to walk. I just feel like honesty can go a long way and unfortunately in the car industry a lot of the salesman are still using the dishonest approach.

The sales staff were fantastic. They listened to our needs, allowed us to try out different models and were really knowledgeable about their vehicles. Shout out to Justin Iffel, you treated my wife and I with respect and professionalism, and we really appreciated that. Of all the dealerships we visited, KIA (both in Aylmer and Ottawa Bank street) were the best.
