Bytek Volkswagen and their so-called “manager,” the entire operation is shady, arrogant, and dishonest and are the reason people hate dealing with car dealerships. We bought a brand new Jetta in 2021 from Bytek, and it’s been nothing but downhill since. We live in Stittsville—far from the dealership—but still gave them our business thinking we were getting quality. What a joke. In 2023, we brought the car to Myers Kanata and their techs completely screwed us over. As soon as we got the car back, a sensor light popped up—something that never existed before. Myers lied straight to our faces, claiming they “never removed the grille.” Well, they did. And they botched the reinstallation, which caused the issue. To make matters worse, Myers referred us to Assured Automotive for paint work, and that was another disaster. The paint started bubbling in under 3 months because moisture got trapped under the hood. Complete amateur work, but they stood behind it like it was flawless. We were gaslit by both service teams, made to feel like it was somehow our fault, and treated like idiots. We stopped going to VW service altogether after that and found a real mechanic who doesn’t feed us lies and excuses. Then in 2025, the AC compressor dies. The car is barely 4 years old. So I call Bytek—Mr. Chouinard answers—and right away he plays the “sorry, just out of warranty” game. I bring up the Consumer Protection Act (because yes, I know my rights), and instead of showing the slightest professionalism, he gets smug and arrogant. His response? “Oh, you liked us that much? That’s why you never came back for service?” Excuse me? Meanwhile, for months, Bytek's sales team hounded us to come in and trade the car, calling non-stop, trying to get us back in the showroom. It’s all laughs and smiles when they’re trying to sell you a new car—but when you show up with a real problem? Suddenly it’s “not their problem” and their hands are tied. Well guess what? Now it’s my problem—I got sold a lemon, and I’m stuck with the repair bill while they wash their hands of it. Don’t pretend you care about your customers when you clearly don’t. Bytek, Myers, and Assured are all cut from the same dishonest cloth. This is what happens when profit matters more than integrity. Avoid this dealership like the plague. They will smile while screwing you over.

Chris, the manager, was also excellent and made the process seamless. I received my car in perfect condition, and the entire process was smooth from start to finish. ** UPDATE** So for those looking for a short sweet answer about looking to buy a new or used vehicle from here put it short and simple DON'T for those who want to join in on the journey on purchasing a car from here well buckle up. June 9th 2025 i purchased a 2025 VW Golf R Black Edition which do your research about a 56k car before taxes and fees so as you would imagine not cheap. So it starts off by saying this is the ABSOLUTE WORST by far customer service I've ever had in my entire life to get an answer out of someone is so incredibly difficult. You'd get better communication from 2 people who spoke different languages in a room with one door and no windows. Here's the real catch from June 9th 2025 to June 19th 2025 that's 10 whole days less than 800km on this $56,000 vehicle its already getting condensation in the tail light. Apon picking up the vehicle we noticed some sort of residue on both bottom skirts both the salesman Jesse and sales manager assured me they would take care of it at a later date. So this past week i contacted Jesse the salesman about both my issues and a day later responded by saying both Chris and the General Manager have been forwarded the email regarding my issues well 2 days pass and i hear nothing so i call up Bytek and ask to speak to the general manager "He's in a meeting" okay then says to me i can let you talk to Chris well wouldn't you know Chris the SALES MANAGER can't be found. So if that says anything about COMMUNICATION and CUSTOMER SERVICE stay clear of Bytek. But there's more HAHA getting it serviced isn't any better it took over 2 hours to diagnose that the tail light needs to be replaced and they remove the residue from the skirts of the $56,000 vehicle the service advisor asks "would you like us to wash your car its complimentary" I figure sure why not ONLY to walk out and it wasn't even washed at all?!?!!?!? Like it genuinely seems like they don't care at all about the customer they don't put the effort or communication in. Like is this how you treat all your customers? ***UPDATED PART*** So i booked an appointment to get the tail light swapped out walking into the service department area a gentleman was sitting there at his desk drawing on a piece of paper (little unprofessional) but after 2 and half hours or so of waiting i was notified the work had been done and the service advisor had told me the paperwork hadn't been completed???? In the 2 and a half hours the simplest thing of the job wasn't done??? He proceeded to tell me he would email it to me so i gave it till the next business day at around 4pm and i had to contact them to get my paperwork done the person responding said" he forgot" so literally everyone who's read this i urge you to stay the hell away from Bytek and go to someplace else and that also isn't the sister dealership because they'll treat you exactly the same there.

Updated Review: Despite all the issues I experienced, i want to update my review to 5 stars because of the outstanding effort from Ali Hassan (General Sales Manager). He took real action. He even offered me to replace the front bumper and gave me a car mats as compensation. Very fast when responding to you and very helpful overall. I can see that they care about their costumer and the dealer is trying hard to turn the situation around. I truly appreciate the effort and support. This was my first time buying a car from a dealership, and unfortunately, the experience did not meet my expectations. While the negotiation with the sales representative went smoothly (I even agreed to pay full MSRP without asking for a discount/my price range, but sales rep gave me $500 discount for new grad), the issues began shortly after. One of my main requests during the negotiation and again the day before delivery was not to drill holes in the front bumper for the license plate, as I planned to install it myself with aftermarket accessories I had already purchased. Despite clear communication, they drilled the holes anyway. Now I can’t use the accessories I bought, and I’m left with an unwanted hole that I’d need to fix myself—not what I expected after buying a new car. During the test drive, we ran out of gas, which was unprofessional and concerning. I also noticed scratched rims, which they promised to replace before delivery (fair enough). But then the delivery itself became a mess. I was given a specific delivery date and took time off work for it, only to find out on the actual day that the car wasn’t ready. They told me to come the next day that the car will be ready at 12 PM. When I did, I still had to wait until 2 PM to receive the car. On top of that, despite all reminders, the front plate was still drilled in. As compensation, I was given a $300 discount along with a hat, water bottle, and a logo light, which is not very fair to me. None of which address the real issue of my front bumper being drilled against my request. Overall, this experience was frustrating and disappointing for what should have been an exciting first car purchase. The lack of attention to detail throughout the process really took away from the moment.

I had been a customer here for many years, bought and serviced multiple vehicles. However I had to take my business elsewhere. The customer service in sales and service department is severely lacking and had been getting progressively worse. The staff rotation had been surreal in a last few years. I am not sure if it is due to new general manager they got some time back in last few years (who upon meeting is clearly a quack) or simply the ignorance of the owner. It is pretty clear though that neither one values their loyal customers or cares about having staff capable and qualified to take care of them.

I reached out to Bytek Volkswagen about a used VW GTI that was listed without any photos or a Carfax report. The salesman said he would get back to me with more details but never followed through. I waited several days with no update, and then the car disappeared from the website without any explanation. Extremely poor communication and unprofessional experience overall. Wasted my time and left a bad impression.
