I am a longtime customer of Sherwood Honda, having brought my Civic in for regular maintenance since buying it new in 2011. My most recent service experience was so poor that I no longer will be bringing my vehicle in for future service experiences. I write this review so as to warn potential customers to be weary of this dealership for service issues. My husband and I waited for 4 hours to have 3 problem codes scanned, VSA/power steering/and ABS. We were told we would have to wait 2 hours initially. After the two and a half hour mark, my husband went to ask what could possibly be taking so long. He was told the technician was "diagnosing" the problem, taking the car for a test drive and replacing fuses (my husband did not at all appreciate this service advisor's attitude, she was abrupt and minimized my husband's request to just simply have the codes scanned as we had initially asked). We also had not authorized for repairs to be done, we had only signed off on 140$ to have the problem dash lights scanned. The tech said there was BAD pulling from both sides of the steering but that is because the power steering system was not operational (as evidenced by the power steering problem light). My husband did not find ANY pulling driving my vehicle, and he used to be an automotive technician. The tech asked if I had been in any accidents. The only two accidents that occurred to my car were 1) it being back into on the driver's side while parked in January of this year and 2) being rear ended 3 years ago. The damage was completely fixed by two auto body shops on the seperate occasions. I explained to the advisor, who was supposedly relaying to the tech, that the problem lights popped up during winter when I had turned a corner, lost traction and the car slid sideways into a snowbank. Finally, after the 4 hours were up, we were told that the issue hadn't been resolved!!! That we had to pay the 140$ (for essentially an incompetent tech to mull around for 4 hours trying and failing to comprehend what could be wrong) AND bring it back for ANOTHER appointment, however this would be need to be for a full day. No mention of "we will cover the diagnosing costs, sorry for this inconvenience", nor did they say the second visit's costs would be covered. I will not be bringing my car back for any future service with Sherwood Honda after this frustrating and appalling experience. I feel as though we were completely taken advantage of with NO results for our wasted time and money spent.

We recently bought one of the car for our fleet. Aurora, the sales person was extremely helpful. She is very knowledgeable and spend time to educate you. It was wonderful experience over all. She treats you with much of the warmth and make your buying experience comfortable with no selling pressure. it has been few weeks now and she still stay in touch just to see if everything is going good.

Okay service

July 08, 2016

Went for my first oil change today. Came to Honda to get it done versus my mechanic shop due to the free car wash included with the service. I had a doctor's appointment an hour and half later. They managed to get my car back to me in under an hour. Unfortunately when I got my car back there was bird poop all over my hood. The rest of the car was wet so it must have been washed. The car should have been checked before being returned to me. Next time, I will just go to my mechanic shop and then wash it myself.

I had a great car buying experience to day at this place, I went to all Honda dealerships in Edmonton for buying a Civic 2016 and "Arthy" helped me with the best price at this dealership and I am really happy to be lucky and found this place for shopping. Also, finance department, Keely is a really nice person and is taking care of me. I definitely suggest them for buying a car...

Went into the dealership today for the very first time. The purpose was to book an appointment with service for my CRV for an open recall and a service, having never visited the location before I didn't know to whom I had to speak with on the matter. I approached the service cashier, only because there is no service desk in the showroom/waiting area, and asked who I would speak with to make n appointment. I was then duly informed by the service cashier in no uncertain terms that the appointment coordinator was off today and I had to speak to the "people out here" as she stormed away and pushed a door open and pointed out into a breezeway. As I obeyed the commands to leave the general area she then brought me to a service advisor I'm guessing and then told me that they make appointments and then she stormed off. I was apologized to by two of the advisors as they stated that the day was very busy and the stress was just getting to her and she's not normally like this. They followed with the appointment coordinator normally has Fridays off but has Thursday off this week due to the holiday. As I stated to them both, what does this have to do with me? I wanted to make an appointment, rudeness and excuses for said actions were not part of the agenda. For someone who has never had any dealings with a business before this is an egregious first impression. I guess I'll see if another dealer can complete the tasks.

Hello Hyler, We are sorry to hear that you had a bad experience at with us. We are proud of our upbeat, fun and customer centric atmosphere but in this case it seems we failed. I cannot say how she was walking but we do ask our staff to walk our clients to wherever they are going in the building. So that there is no confusion and ensure there is someone available to help them. If you wish to discuss this further, I would definitely be interested to hear in more detail what happened and ensure we can improve our process. We have already implemented a change to appointment procedure based your comments. Thank you for the feedback, Regards, Quinn Kary General Manager Sherwood Honda 780-417-0005

Inspection Fail

June 28, 2016

Bought a used car from Sherwood Honda a few weeks ago. Never used them before and always went to Derrick Dodge - At first I was pleased but then almost immediately began having AC issues. Then the engine started overheating. Now my trusted family mechanic says that the Power supply block for the engine fan is burned out, will need a control unit and possible new radiation fan motor. That is even before we touch the radiator fluid and the recharge the Freon. Bill may be well over $1,000. So as far as I can tell, the options are that either Sherwood Honda's mechanics lied about their inspection or they are incompetent. Sherwood Honda suggested I bring it in and have their mechanics look at it....the same bunch that missed this stuff the first time? No thanks. Not too happy. I would suggest that anyone looking for cars...just keep looking.

Over tightened the oil filter on my 2005 Honda Accord

June 26, 2016

I purchased a 2005 Honda Accord EX-L via in house financing from Sherwood Honda on Nov. 11, 2015. They attempted to contact me within a month or two of my purchase to have regular maintenance completed on the vehicle. It was my understanding from the work done on the vehicle shortly after it was traded in that regular maintenance had been performed already to the tune of $1031.54 then it sat on their lot for 2 months. Indeed I have an invoice for a “world class multi point inspection” as it is requested in order for it to be sold as a used car on their lot. It included driver and passenger air bag recalls which I’m not sure why they wouldn’t have completed for the previous owner whom had possession of the vehicle for ten years since it was new. They also replaced the rear brake shoes and needed to machine the rear drums likely due to the previous owner not performing regular maintenance on the rear brakes in a timely fashion. They replaced the wiper blades and the left rear door wiring harness. They needed to drill the license plate holder screws out and tap new holes. They also did an oil and oil filter change. This is where things get a little weird. They say they use a 14 mm washer on the drain plug during the oil change. I have been changing the oil in my cars for several years and I’m no mechanic. I didn’t find any washer on the drain plug at all. The worst part was that I couldn’t get the filter off for a couple of days. It had been over tightened by a gorilla maybe. There is no socket end on the filter so it wasn’t done using a socket wrench. Someone went to the effort to over tighten the filter so much that I would be required to bring my car back to them (or another shop) to have them change the oil which didn’t happen. I bought several tools used to remove oil filters over the course of those days and had 5 different men including myself struggle to try and remove the filter. Finally one of my roommates that lives in the gym, returned home from working in Ft. Mac and he was able to remove the filter with some serious effort using a tool which crushed the filter to the point of it leaking oil on him. I was pretty happy he was able to get it off so I could complete the oil change myself. I was at the point where I was thinking of driving the car back to Sherwood Honda with no oil in it at all and leaving it there. After this issue when I was contacted again to schedule service for my vehicle I asked Jennifer Davis the Service Appointment Coordinator at Sherwood Honda why I would bring my car to them for any service if their mechanics can’t even do a simple oil change properly. She offered no explanation as to why there was no crush washer and why the oil filter was so hard to remove. She just stated that she will no longer contact me regarding service for my vehicle. It seems like she felt that she wouldn’t be able to get the regular service repair bills in large amounts of money paid from me and left me to look after my own maintenance on the car I purchased from them. Not exactly what I would expect from the company who says “Sher wood love to be your PERFECT 10”. I am however still wondering why one of my cigarette lighters doesn’t work and why my driver’s side door is always closing on me even when I`m parked on flat ground. Those two things don’t bother me nearly as much as how they handled the oil change situation when I asked about it. I will not be taking my car there for maintenance unless they try to correct the situation with some old fashioned customer service. What’s “customer service” to Sherwood Honda? Or am I asking the wrong dealership?
