Does not deserve even a one star rating. I was provided a Car Proof Report that was not current (extensive hail damage overlooked), a "certified extensive inspection report" that indicated no issues with the automatic transmission (the vehicle is manual), oil change with oil not recommended by the manufacturer, a "no hidden fees" that did not mention a $599.00 Documentation Fee, a salesperson who did not even have a basic knowledge of the brand of vehicle I was interested in purchasing and casually dismissed the issue of the vehicle drifting when driven and the substantial paint pitting on the front, rear and sides of the vehicle. Shopping at SMP stresses the importance of "caveat emptor"! P.S. I had to ask about any "hidden fees" before disclosure by the sales manager and salesperson. With regards to the "mistake" made by the technician with respect to the condition of the transmission, the technician checked off in two separate boxes that the manuel transmission (vehicle has a automatic transmission). Lastly, I had to ask why the vehicle was covered with pitting before the salesperson disclosed that it had been damaged by hail.

Hi Larry - Thanks for your feedback on your experience here. We do appreciate you coming in and are certainly surprised at your feedback based on our interaction with you while you were here. We do take your experience and thoughts to heart. In regards to your points mentioned, several things should be noted. Although the original CarProof was not complete with notation of the hail damage due to the recent nature of it and the updating procedure of CarProof, it was disclosed to you and not overlooked. As you may know from living in the prairies, hail damage is often an issue here and though not structural in nature, isn't cheap to fix. In relationship to the Inspection Report, we are all human and the technician clearly checked the wrong box when filling out the form. That happens from time to time though we try to be diligent in catching errors. I do apologize if your concern over drift was not properly responded to and addressed, we have discussed that directly with the salesperson involved. Although it did go through a wheel alignment, we did offer a re-inspection for that when you were here in case something was missed. These roads are torture on suspension and something could have potentially slipped out of spec. When it comes to product knowledge on every vehicle on our Lot that can be tough. Currently we've got 13 different brands and near 100 different vehicles and it's no easy task to be an expert on all of them. The Mini is almost in a class by itself and truly unique. We see probably 2-3 of these a year so definitely knowing all the ins and outs of the vehicle won't be at the same level as the other 98% of our inventory. Normally with something like that we'll spend some time researching it to be up to speed and able to adequately demonstrate. Clearly that didn't happen on this one which did just come into inventory prior to your arrival and would have affected our ability to be sufficiently prepared. I realize there was a concern about the "no hidden fees" designation and in fact there aren't any "hidden fees" as the $599 Documentation fee was discussed with you and explained. There are strict regulations when it comes to fees and disclosure that we have to abide by and that procedure was followed to ensure there were no surprises should you have decided to purchase the vehicle. During your visit there was also concern over the kilometers and paint wear on the vehicle which we offered to further compensate in the price. Clearly this is a vehicle that was loved by the previous owner since they did put higher than average kilometers on it and we've done our best to properly recondition it and provide it at a competitive price. As you know from looking at used vehicles, no two are the same and as nice as some of them are, they're still used. We'd love the chance to discuss and go over any of these points in person and appreciate the time you invested to come down and have a look.

Got my first car here. Excellent service. Even though we were just walk in customers, everything was processed on the same day and got home with the car. Amazing and pleasant people, especially Imee Barrozo, that assist us the whole time to pick the perfect car for me and in addition, gave me lots of advices. Highly recommending to get your car with her assistance too.

I recently had maintenance/repair work done at SMP service department. I was very satisfied with the work they did and my service advisor went beyond what she needed to help me find discounts and warranty coverage. My total savings, b/c of the efforts of advisor, was $2400. Not only that but they also were sure to inform me of the extra repairs needed/recommended before completing them. Thank you SMP Service Department
