First time going to this dealership. Been a loyal Mazda performance car buyer for over 12 years of new car purchases. Not to throw shade and name names but the dealer I bought my last car from in Kanata must have changed leadership or staff, but sufficed to say I was very unimpressed with the customer service and pushy sales tactics before even commiting to something (dealer pushing mandatory “”tire warranty package”” for $400 before you even sit down to negotiate, citing how they can be choosy with customers due to supply and demand). Yeah no thanks. That said, I left the first dealership and drove to Barrhaven Mazda on a whim. No appointment, no calls, etc. I’m greeted right away by Alex B. Now Alex B is a car guy. Alex B gets it, and Alex B has *rockstar* customer service. Alex B needs a promotion, or at least a sticker or something! In today’s world, you often find that a dealership is selling inventory that isn’t even at the dealer yet, due to the ongoing delays in getting just about everything but toilet paper nowadays. That said, best car bill of sale purchase experience I’ve ever had. Turns out, the sales rep actually talks to finance and describes the customer. Adnan I was aware that I do a lot of my own maintainence. Didn’t try to strong arm me into any packages for warranty (I mean Mazda’s warranty is pretty good already but these cars last) Because he’s such a genuine guy and good at the upsell, I’ll be going to the dealer for my oil changes for as long as I own the vehicle. Adnan I needs a raise or promotion too but times are tough so I try and do my part there. Everyone’s got to make money, and it’s a good value package Dilawri has. Overall very good experience, and I don’t even have a car yet. Imagine when they actually are able to have you test drive it. Edit: Only one month later and my car was delivered. It’s in mint shape, detailed without any paint damage you may encounter at other dealers. Once again, Alex and Adnan provided excellent customer service. Adnan reached out to me to coordinate delivery and worked around my schedule. Alex clearly fully engages in all the training sessions as he knew the “quirks and features” like the back of his hand. Adnan clearly explained all the paperwork as we finalized everything, super down to earth guy.

Big ups to service advisor, Tom D. Very friendly, honest and trustworthy Brought my Mazda3 in for inspection for the first time at this location and was very glad to meet Tom. All of my concerns were addressed and resolved quickly. I highly recommend the service department at this location and will be dropping my vehicle off for maintenance in the future.

Worst service department. Doug Gibson is absolutely the worst service manager I have dealt with. Don't Bring in your vehicle for service.

One star is generous for our experience- it wouldn't let me post unless I gave a star. My husband was researching used cars for our son. He came across one at Barrhaven Mazda. He called several times and nobody answered the phone, so he drove there and met with a salesman, who gave his card to my husband and checked on the vehicle. He came back to say that the car was sold months ago! My husband stood up, threw the card on the salesman's desk and questioned why the add was still up. The salesman said "why do you disrespect me" and "you should have called first". My husband said I called several times and nobody answered. Great way to sell cars!!! You should be bending over backwards for your customer. My husband threw this salesman's card back on the desk as a sign of frustration. Funny that the salesman would automatically assume it as a sign of disrespect. Respect the customer and you'll get sales. But you've tarnished your reputation with this customer.

I bought brand new 2018 CX-5 Mazda from this dealer. For the past 3+ years, I have been there to get all maintenance done. On Nov.11 2021 I went to Barrhaven Mazda to swap winter tires, and was told the back brake pads needed to be changed, which I agreed. When I drove on the local road outside this dealer, the drive felt a little bumpy. I thought it was because of the road conditions, which I couldn’t see since it was so dark. Then I drove 17+ km highway get home. When I stepped out of the car, I smelt an extremely strong burnt rubber smell. One of left back tire bolts was so hot, my finger skin got burned. I knew something wrong with the replaced brake, so I called them. The next day, the service manager asked me to drive to the center, I said it was not safe to drive and asked them send a tow truck, which they did. At noon, they called and said clearly that it was the mechanic’s mistake, as he didn't check or missed the caliper, causing the caliper to not go back. He also said the caliper, acuator, motor were damaged and needed to be replaced. When I got to store, I asked why the road test didn’t detect this. The manager said the mechanic tested it but not on highway. I asked the service manager what caused caliper not going back, he just kept on saying something else. I kept on asking him, and finally he said "It sometimes happens, you just had bad luck". This made the Mazda brand sound very unsafe. And they made me pay another $725.61 for parts and labor caused by this! This is beyond ridiculous! I understand that human error happens, but they put the responsibility of their error on the customer to make money from it, it's definitely unacceptable. And their attitude shows they don't care about customer's safety at all. "It sometimes happens, you just had bad luck", REALLY? Now I have worries when I drive this car, as I am doubting the safety of this brand.
