Work was done well, but didnt like the surprise.....

May 08, 2014

When I purchased my Toyota in May 2012, I had a two year service package included. THis was to cover off the first two years worth of Toyota recommended parts and service as specified in the owners manual. I have returned to Ancaster Toyota for each service as recommended from the date of purchase, with my experience yesterday to be the last service of this type. I was told when I arrived that the service package is actually limited by a two years or $300 maximum. This was never told to me at the time of vehicle purchase. THis meant for an extra $220 expense yesterday for my 36,000 km service. This is not an issue of money, but of deception. There was an issue when I purchased the vehicle with a Toyota Canada $500 rebate. I had purchased the vehicle on April 30, 2012 when there as a $1000 purchase incentive from Toyota Canada. I was told by the salesperson the security of buying the vehicle "today" was that if the purchase incentive is gone on May 1st, you made the purchase on a good day. If the incentive gets better for the month of May, you can still take advantage of that. On May 1st, 2012, Toyota changed the incentive to $1500 on my vehicle. When I picked up the vehicle in Mid-May, the sales manager did not want to give me the $500 extra incentive on my purchase, and I was not accepting of his answer. As a way to appease me, he offered me the two year service package that "is worth a lot more than $500". I agreed. It is unfortunate that the sales manager at time of purchase did not tell the truth. And this has left me with a poor impression of the individuals involved in the sale of the vehicle to me, and I now question any future purchases at this dealership. The Service Manager was excellent in explaining the $300 limit to me, and did appologize for the lack of detail from the sales team at time of purchase. I have no issue with this person or department at the dealership.

I feel very comfortable going to my Toyota dealership service centre. The employees do not make me feel intimidated and are always respectful and pleasant. I like dealing with this service centre and never feel as though my questions are not worth answering. They always great me by name and make me feel comfortable. I don't have any negative feed back. Keep up the good work!

Good.

Brian explained and went over in detail what they will be doing and how long it will take. Since time was a factor with me returning to work, I was very satisfied with the honesty. But in saying that... two hub caps were not put on the vehicle properly.(front right & back left). I checked them after I arrived back to work at 1:45 pm. I pushed them in place.

I called on Friday and spoke to Mellisa and she nicely explained to me that Friday and Monday morning was really business and she made an appointment for Monday afternoon. This worked well for me. Its was good she gave my an alternative and didn't just say we can't.

I went to get a noise from my recently serviced brakes (April 5) eliminated.

May 06, 2014

I was disappointed with Attila telling me that the noise from my brakes was "normal" and that all cars experience it. I have been driving since 1976 and that definitely has not been my "normal" experience with brakes. I do believe that something is wrong, not from any safety perspective perhaps, but definitely with my perception of the work that was done. I have been a good customer with Ancaster Toyota and have been mostly been very satisfied with my experience. This one bad experience will not lead me to go elsewhere, but it is indeed troubling to me. Mike Kennedy.

Bad dealership

April 26, 2014

Worst customer service after sale, mentioned sale representative problem in steering system before purchase but convinced me to get sale. Also asked about problem in car visor which Toyota Canada got lot of complaints and extended the warranty on this part from 5 to 7 years to replace for free. They didn't agree with this and asked part cost ($180/) plus labor. I went to another Toyota dealer and they checked my camry car and replaced it free of cost as it was covered by Toyota Canada.
